Just wondering....I am a guitarist....and get attention about it alot with women....but wondering....do women tend to just look at the guy as a musician over who he is inside?....or is it just an extra women like? Just wondering what it is that women like about musicians...Hit me up about it....trying to avoid the usually groupie like girl and wondering what causes that for musicians.....

Yes and no....its nice to have that attention but looking to have only one girl to give that attention and not for the music....

I like the fact that it means the guy can be creative and express himself.

Ive gone out with a few musicians and I can honestly tell you that it was the music that they played that turned me on more than them........

well...i think the "groupie" type women might be in it for the popularity. to be with someone who is, or could be, famous. but it also might be that they're with someone who can create something. being able to play music takes a great deal of skill and creativity. and....idk, musicians are just hot. hahaha.

I guess the girls just like being seen with a guy who IS seen. I am sure there are more tricky dilema's in the world

my cousin does the sound stages for the stars she did julian lennon and even did maryln mason stage setup... but im not the one that is really into musicans i like some of the music but im not a crazy fanatic fan

In my experience, speaking as one who has been in a number of bands:

1.) They want you to write a song about them. Disclaimer: DON'T EVER DO THIS! It NEVER works out well!

2.) They want to join the band. This is usually a bad idea, because they almost never have any musical ability; if they did, they would already be in a band of their own. Some of them have found a loophole, where:

3.) They ask you to teach them how to play an instrument. This almost never works either, because they still have no musical ability, but sometimes the proximity leads to other interesting scenarios.

4.) It's a status thing for when they're talking to their friends. "You slept with the night manager at Taco Bell? Well, I slept with a musician!" Few things trump a musician --a sitting president, maybe (well, not Clinton, he's no challenge), Jerry Springer, Stephen Hawking -- but for most girls, a musician is the top of the heap.

I found the attention gratifying, for about 27 minutes -- then it got kind of boring and superficial. It's not like they ever see you as a real person -- try talking to them about philosophy or values or even changing a tire -- and all they say is "Can you sing me that one part of the song about the pigs in the mist?"

Of course, it's been a few years since I was involved in any of that. Maybe it's different now. A couple of my old band mates have been bugging me to do some recording with them. I don't know, maybe it's worth a try. Lord knows I'm not meeting anyone here....!!

What are most women attracted to in men.. wealth, power and class/status.

Musician are on stage.. they are the center of attention, they fill that class/status area quite well.

Not only that but they are unavailable to anyone. Since you are playing for say 100 people with only 5 members, you guys are unique and special, you have worth that other men in your social circles don't have. They see it as a challenge to get you.

Lastly, most women are easy*. This is a perfect excuse to **** you, "I did the drummer last weekend", sounds more exciting and better than, "that dude at the concert that gave us all the pot and wouldn't leave us alone.. I slept with him".

(*easy-females that love casual sex like men, since society has repressed female promiscuity most are unable to openly act upon their desires without negative feelings or repercussions)

My last partner was a muso, and I had no idea, until after a few dates, he came home for dinner one night and picked up my guitar...

We didn't talk about what we did, we talked about who we are.

He wasn't a musician, he was a man who played his music, as an extension of him, a creative expression.

For groupies it is braggin rights, cause there really isn't anything else offered. I have dated musicians and I think they are just like everyone else. I have found they tend to be moody, just my opinion of course, no offense intended.

It's not really the musician its the music they make kiddin' but you mate, you are one hot musician

Being a musician myself, I tend to think musicians seem to be more laid back than other people. I think most musicians are hopeless romantics, deep down. They tend to listen to people because they like to empathize, a lot of times through music.

I dunno if any of this is even true, but it's what I think.

Plus, there's just something about a talented guy that's just majorly hot...

It's the way they cary themselves, their confidence, and their creativness.

I think that it's a trait also, that women (or men, depending) find attractive. I'm attracted to guys with accents (except southern ones ... no offense, I just think it grates on me for some reason), and some people are attracted to people with musical ability, or a great body, or even their status.

Some women are attracted to jerks. Some men are attracted to women with a high maintenence streak.

I get a lot of people just asking about the same thing. Its ONE of my many hobbies...but, Im not a rockstar. If I was famous why would I be here?
