If prostitution is illegal,,,,why do some locations seem to overlook it

some go after just johns

and others just prostitutes

an illegal act should be considered illegal for anyone involved,,,shouldn't it?

(I watch crime shows and see cops asking prostitutes for information, never taking them in)\

what do you think?

me: consentual sex is consentual sex, and no one elses business,, or shouldn't be a legal or criminal matter anyway

The problem with enforcing punitive action against prostitution is that they would have to do the same thing with the whole porn industry.

And with no porn industry, all the men on the planet would die , and I would miss them terribly

I agree to a certain extent Ms Harmony if is a mutual between two parties, however prostitution is far from a victimless crime with some women being forced by pimps or in some cases being kidnapped off the streets at a young age and being forced into the life, drugs std's and beatings are common for these women but in some cases like a "bunny Ranch" where the girls go willing and are checked for Stds is another thing altogether. I feel sorry for a human being that would have to sell a piece of their soul to survive. This world is truly hard for some.

indeed many are runaways
some get caught up in the sex slave market
some are hooked on drugs
most come from abused backgrounds
or they are the victims of abuse along the way

That's my point MsH.

If prostitution is illegal , why shouldn't making adult porn be illegal too?

Doesn't it also embrace the concept of sex for money?

exactly

if it is sex for money, it should apply to porn too

however, if its about sex under duress or threat, that's not the same as prostitution or porn and should be its own crime, on the part of the party applying the threat or duress

I agree.

"Forced" sex is a separate issue altogether

why do some locations seem to overlook it

Budget concerns and priorities.

some go after just johns

Some believe curtailing demand will eliminate supply.

and others just prostitutes

Some believe ending supply makes demand for that particular supply moot, since demand is basic human impulse, and safer alternatives will be pursued.

Laws will never be absolutes.
Unless you're willing to apply an absolute solution, i.e. kill whomever breaks the law, knowingly or unknowingly.

I watch crime shows

These are not an accurate reflection of reality.

what do you think?

I think not a lot of thought was put into this.

consentual sex is consentual sex, and no one elses business,, or shouldn't be a legal or criminal matter anywa

That just brings up the question of what exactly constitutes "consentual."

if it is sex for money, it should apply to porn too

By that logic everyone in the military should be arrested and brought up on charges of contract killing.

, if its about sex under duress or threat, that's not the same as prostitution or porn and should be its own crime, on the part of the party applying the threat or duress

There are those that choose to become a prostitute, and there are those that are forced in to prostitution as a result of sex traffickers, or their personal circumstances. I believe the law should protect women from being exploited, by denying them the right to payment for consensual sex, and by prosecuting both those who sell or purchase sex.

A good street cop .Will have a working relationship with Street prostitute. If you think about it they are involved with all type of people. from lawyers, and judges to drug dealers and common street thugs. They are a wealth of information. It's kinda like "look what your doing is illegal. I can stay here and harass you and the poor souls that come and roll the dice that they're not taking anything to their wives or gf's or you can tell me where the drug house was moved to, or where I can find so and so cause he's a suspect in a _____? If you talk to must off then long enough and enough times you start to realize they are people that have suffered allot or have survived abuse, molestation, rape. You no longer see a low life hooker, but assume one whose just trying to make the best if the crappy hand she was dealt.

For some answers to your questions regarding prostitution, but this refers only to the situation here in the UK, see the webpage detailed below.

I agree, and I wonder if there's one single prostitute in the entire world who actually likes having all kinds of vulgar men inside them, regardless of the money they can make.

I think any man who has used a prostitute (used being the right word) has a festering sickness going on in their minds.

The difference between Prostitution and Porn. At least for the United States...

The IRS has no way to check Prostitutes to see if they're paying enough taxes. Example, no W-2 forms. Big government doesn't get it's money.

Porn actually has wages earned and are reported. Big government gets it's money and doesn't have to tip.

Side note....without Porn....Government employees wouldn't have anything to look at while they dawdle thru the day at work...laugh

You have to remember joe that not all prostitues are rendering their services for 20 bucks an hour.

Some of these women have made a bonified career out of this, and see their bodies as a financial tool.

At that point they no longer feel emotionally or spiritually connected to their bodies as you or I do.

I watched a documentary on adult porn stars and many of them said that they loved the lifestyle that the industry afforded them.

Some of these women dont see themselves as sex workers. They see themselves as entrepreneurs.

It may sound strange to you and I , but it is what some of them choose whoa

I hear you and you have a point.

I was thinking of the ones that T described, that's why I quoted her, drug users, abuse victims etc.
These are the ones I feel for.
