What the he|| is a girl-like / girly woman?
I sometimes come across men looking for that, what does it mean? - an immature woman? - a woman that dresses like she's still 18? - a woman that behaves like she's still 18? - a woman that giggles like a schoolgirl at everything? I have one girlfriend that men often label 'girl-like'. Whenever she needs help, there's loads of men vying to be the one to help her out. But the thing is ... she uses that to get what she wants/needs. Not because she is a bad person, but she's been reared that way by her parents. They always treated her as if she couldn't do anything herself, so she simply continues that behaviour now that she's an adult, and single mother of one. It's sheer insecurity and fear of taking responsibility herself, because she was never taught this in life. So she uses that one skill she does have, pretending to be innocent and naive, and basically uses men to get what she needs/wants. So I'm thinking, do men want a woman like that? Or do you mean "feminine woman" when you say "girl-like woman"? (which to me is totally not the same) . . |

I'm also not the type of woman that busies herself with baking and cooking and whatever other typical woman things happen to be, lol.
I am feminine, and 'lady like', but also can be more like a tomboy, just depends on where, how, who, when etc. I guess that's a bad thing in itself, as I also came across some men that mentioned "a woman who doesn't have two faces". I immediately skip such men, lol. I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that, but I do know I'm like a diamond: multi-faceted. And I think to some this may be like "two faced" (??). But it's what I'm like. Like Alison Morissette sang: I'm a little bit of everything All rolled into one I'm a *****, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, I do not feel ashamed I'm your hell, I'm your dream, I'm nothing in between Now me, I'm looking for the guy who wouldn't want me any other way . . |

A girly woman instead of a manly woman. Manly woman? |

It's weird how words with almost the same meaning can draw up such different images... Ladylike is one of them weird ones too. Can be flattering, can be insulting. In a way it reminds me of a snob that only allows her husband to erm ... do her as long as he doesn't ruin her hair and make-up and doesn't require her to make any sounds, haha. OMG ... |

What the he|| is a girl-like / girly woman?
A person that ultimately, at least on some level, realizes there are two genders and they are different. That it's asinine to compete on the same level for the same things as though they are both equal and to make it so is like attempting to make apples the same as oranges. So they act like females, think like females, celebrate being female, make sure they are never mistaken for men, and make sure men and everyone sees them as female at all times. They develop their own strengths and abilities stemming from femininity and being female. They do not have some socially trained self hatred of being labeled or defined as women so try to compete with men by adopting male traits in any way, shape, or form, including dress, mannerisms, independence, or social status. Yet a tomboy kinda girl can be extremely sexy.
Only to men that infantilize women. It's just an aspect of objectification. Strippers are sexy to those that objectify women by sexualizing them. Tomboys are sexy to those that objectify women by infantilizing them. Ultimately seeing it as cute to see the little woman play at man stuff. Like watching a 4 year old with that little toolbelt with plastic hammer and screwdriver with a little construction hat. It's so cute it engenders a strong emotional reaction. There's a reason women were given female traits and bodies. Anything that hides or distracts from those are basically a fetish. No different than women saying they love a man in uniform, or will only date cops, military, or firemen. It's only sexy to certain people for reasons that aren't all that positive. Sometimes those relationships work out anyways. Sometimes it's easier to figure out "where you stand" when someone objectifies you, it's easier to figure out what they want and how they'll respond to you. |

these kind of thread topics blow my mind
when you are a younger girl say in your twenties and ya jump at a spider or ya say your car is going clunka clunka and no you did not know you were supposed to get oil change the boyfriend, husband, brother, guy friend, father all roll their eyes and grin and say " you are such a girl, grow up" you spend rest of your twenties and into your thirties trying to be a this grown up lady you tackle a job, a family, the bills, marriage, a career and then he says " man I miss how you used to be when you were younger" if you show any traits like confidence, competence or intelligence you are labled manly if you do not dress daily in hooker heels, a short skirt and enough make up to look like a halloween mask you are labeled too tomboyish and not girly if you are too athletic you are no longer considered soft and feminine then ya come on here and get asked stupid things like "what would you do to please your man" that depends..on what he does daily to please me pleasure is a two way street |
|
|
|
Is this one of those things like:
Jumbo shrimp Military intelligence Or the like? |
|
|
|
Well I think there is a balance..
If I see a spider I can promise I am going to screech like the best girly girl there is. The next day I will bang my Moose and proceed to field dress it. I can wear my "hooker heels" one day and extra tuffs the next. Pancho calls me girly girl at times and I just smile and let him. These woman that project helplessness is sad in a way. They have to be taken care of. "my mom" is like that. Lord help her if she has to take out the trash, carry her own luggage anywhere, check the oil so not going to happen. She drives me nuts and actually someone I hate to travel with because it is a full time job taking care of her. She also can cry without messy up her make up a single tear track down the face. Dang them anyway but in all that girlyness she taught my sisters and I how to be competent women to take care of ourselves. Yet if a man wants to check my oil I will let him, kill all the spiders please. |
