We all encouter crossroads in our lives, the point that some pessimists would say "make us or break us", but with God as a spiritual leader those hard times are so much easier. My own personal experiences have taught me through "make or break pessimism"...and my "new" lifestyle (the preferable one) walking WITH God down the path of life. I believe that we all have "encouraged" paths, by God, but as humans we make our own decisions and that tells which direction that we will go. God is there for all of us regardless of the outcome...and he always seems to steer me back in the necessary direction. Thank you Lord! If it wasn't for God steering me after those hardships that I encountered two-and-a-half years ago, I doubt I would be on this site today. God truly does work in mysterious ways...right nuenjins? Yes sweety....or should I say...yes dear ........... . |

The church I go to was snowed out tonight. The policy is that when the schools are closed or close early for the weather, the Awana children’s program is called off. It is just 22 miles and the roads are good. I would have gone for it. But they said there will be no church tonight. Tonight the Just Say Hi crowd is my church. I have already read some good sermons.
Now I would like some fellowship. Someone write to me. |

For JB
My fav We need to life up our brother in Christ JB....and sing praises unto His Holy Name...... Isa.53 [1] Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? [2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. [3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. [7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. [8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [9] And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. [10] Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. [11] He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. [12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. |

"The Church at its worst is still better than the world at its best!"
-Bill Gaither (I have a little sarcasm in my thoughts this evening. I went in a couple of threads - I should know better. I guess some folks are going to have to see it to believe it). Britty |

Help Me to Believe in Beginnings (author; unknown) God of history and of my heart, so much has happened to me during these whirlwind days: I've known death and birth; I've been brave and scared; I've hurt, I've helped; I've been honest, I've lied; I've destroyed, I've created; I've been with people, I've been lonely; I've been loyal, I've betrayed; I've decided, I've waffled; I've laughed and I've cried. You know my frail heart and my frayed history - and now another day begins. O God, help me to believe in beginnings and in my beginning again, no matter how often I've failed before. Help me to make beginnings: to begin going out of my weary mind into fresh dreams, daring to make my own bold tracks in the land of now; to begin forgiving that I may experience mercy; to begin questioning the unquestionable that I may know truth to begin disciplining that I may create beauty; to begin sacrificing that I may make peace; to begin loving that I may realize joy. Help me to be a beginning to others, to be a singer to the songless, a storyteller to the aimless, a befriender of the friendless; to become a beginning of hope for the despairing, of assurance for the doubting, of reconciliation for the divided; to become a beginning of freedom for the oppressed, of comfort for the sorrowing, of friendship for the forgotten; to become a beginning of beauty for the forlorn, of sweetness for the soured, of gentleness for the angry, of wholeness for the broken, of peace for the frightened and violent of the earth. Help me to believe in beginnings, to make a beginning, to be a beginning, so that I may not just grow old, but grow new each day of this wild, amazing life you call me to live with the passion of Jesus Christ. |

I've got one. "be fishers of men". Matthew 4 18. And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. |

Britty, I saw where you went. Girl, you stay out of those places. If you want to go winning souls that’s one thing, But be in the world, not of it. (she did no bad thing, just wished someone a blessed day)

I know, winning souls is up to the Holy Spirit and I am beginning to believe some people are going to have to see hell first - (I am talking of a different kind of hell).
I think that was the music one. I believe people, especially if new in the church or their faith they are naturally going to hang on to things they like. They can't change until they are ready and that is where 'the church' need to be more compassionate and understanding. Imagine if the Holy Spirit showed us everything that we have in our lives that was not pleasing to God, immediately we became Christians, that would be scary, much better in little doses as we can learn to deal with it. The other one, well that will be the first of many in the years to come. We have not seen nothing yet. |

Thankfulness is not only an element of prayer; it will also be the end result of prayer: From prayer to praise is never long or difficult journey. - Charles Spurgeon |

Patience in God's Timing
Psalm 27:14, "Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord." It is not easy to be patient. Waiting at the store, the doctor’s office, in traffic; it all gets a little tedious at times. Waiting on God can be even more difficult. In spiritual matters, as well as in general, we need to learn to listen to the Lord. Patience means listening to the Lord. Do we get alone with God in the study of His Word or commune with Him in a quite place to pray? Sometimes we might go to the Lord in prayer even when our minds are made up on the solution, what we feel His answer should be, or will is? If we really want to hear answers to our prayers, we must be patient in waiting for the Lord to reveal to us His way. |
