sitting with his back against the walls these days
the past rushes by in a cloudy haze where he's been where he goes is out of his hands following the path that his heart commands looking back in his mind to yesterday the old man reaches out as the past slips away trying to grasp at something only he can see his life passed away he ceases to be the people pass by as he lays there and dies never looking at him diverting their eyes just another homeless man in the street the last sound he hears is the sound of their feet the ambulance comes to take him away they wash the sidewalk where he use to lay his life is gone the man is too how would you feel if this happened to you circumstances sometimes lead us astray destroying our lives as it is today it only takes a pebble to ripple a pond to dominoe effect the course that were on... |

So true.
I always thought I was a pessimist until I met a homeless man who had an accident at work and lost everything. His wife left him and took their daughter... then the shelter doctor told him he had cancer. He said all he had left was to die. We talked all night, I couldn't make myself leave him. |
