The typical picture you can post is a "mug shot" of yourself. But there are so many other choices that people can make for the picture they put on their profile. Color, Angle, Art, Joke, Random...that's part of what makes the picture important too...

I liked becca before she put her pic up, and then I told her it was about time she did, lol. I think people should always look into your heart then glance at your pic. Just my thoughts.

Actually, I could overlook both if the person really comes to life in their forum postings....

I don't put much stock in profiles because so many of them are either empty or vapid. It amazes me, when I go through Mutual Match selections, how many of the profiles just say "If you want to know anything, you'll have to ask." Where's my incentive to ask, if you can't even write 3 sentences about yourself?

Also, a lot of people NEVER update their profiles, so they could have been married, divorced, elected Ambassador to Ghana, fired from that job, shot into space, and received a Nobel Prize, and you'd never know because their profile is 4 years old.

Pics can also be a crapshoot -- is it really them? Is it a picture of a squid or a duck or a car or a tarantula wearing a chef's hat? I like it when they put 5 or 6 pictures of (hopefully) themselves on their profile, sometimes you can get a sense of the person from the pics. But there have only been 3 or 4 times when I saw a pic and instantly thought "Wow, I want to know more about her." And they were all local, so there was no point, anyway.

So, for me, it's forum posts over anything else, unless it goes to e-mail and IM, etc., and then it's a whole different scenario.

I say they go hand-in-hand... picture for the physical attraction, profile to back it up with emotional/spiritual likes, similarities and personality.

Example... who'd date Paris Hilton? She's semi-attractive (not my type), but what would her profile really be like?

"Hi, I'm Paris... I'm ditzy, felony driven, and my friends are Lindsay and Brittany? Would like to meet my doggie?..."

haha i'm sure paris could make a fake profile up. it's easy to lie about your personality as easy if not easier then pictures because you can front and fake who you are rather u cant fake what u look like in person..

well, I have my costume and a stake so just let me know when you can fit me in.

i like to read the profile to see if it matches up with the picture, a lot of you out there stop borrowing profiles, or start, lol. i paid 4 dollars for mine,lol.

as for the picture, not sure if what you see is what you'll get
