I can understand liking to see your loved one in traditional dress sometimes. Maybe not all the time but at significant times.

To me it is and acceptance of them personally not a submission to every stigma associated with them. Some of the most admired and power women in the modern world wore/wear them.

Especially since a Saree is exceedingly feminine. So much so, I would wonder why you would not care for it if it pleased him. Or honored his family. A smart woman knows the value of that.

I have a Vietnamese son and a daughter in law and for their special occasions I have worn a Ghia out of respect for them and their extended family/guests at certain events. Once I wore a rather modest one and my daughter soon gifted me with one that was absolutely exquisite. One of my most treasured belongings.

And my son carries his medicine bag everywhere he goes. Their child wore his moccasins and Eagle feather home from the hospital and they are framed and displayed in the home now.
