Hey Yaw..I'm back on with the tea again, now my folks of mingle2, what are your thoughts about older women younger man, older men younger? I was out yesterday with 4 of my closes male friends righthhttt...So we go out for dinner and laughs,we doing what us guys do best is act silly and have fun. This beautiful older woman approached me smoothly & without a thought ask me could she buy me a drink ? I said sure. why not? ( Hey a free drink what anybody would agreed...lol). So moving along, I excused myself from the table of my fellas and sat with her. we talked, I introduced myself and we engaged in nice conversation.(Mind you she wasn't a bad looking woman she kind of put you in mind of Susan Lucci). When I asked her age , I don't know why I did I was always told never to ask a diva her age but I was curious. She told me 62. The first thought came to my head " Oh My God, this is somebody's grandma?" But never less I wanted to be a gentlemen about this here. I told her I really appreciate you approaching me & it was nice of you buying a drink for me...but I have to let you know I am currently dating someone , and two you'll a little to old for me. Folks the oldest I go is 46. My Boys say hey age is a mindless number but me I have to be realistic about it, "What can I offer a woman that age?" I'm not looking for a sugar mommy or mother figure"?. My Opinion Minions was I wrong to let her down for her age? did I do the right thing letting her know I was currently dating someone? What would you do and how you view older / younger relationships? Now I want you guys to give me a taste of your hot tea? Spill it all , Okay Bet!

wow yeah that would be a tad bit old for me also... I'm a very young looking 44 year old woman myself but still wouldn't date anyone younger than 35, just my choice i guess... you did the right thing by telling her straight up without leading her on and giving her false hope :)

Age is a prejudice, like any other.
You prejudged her, soon as you heard her age. Always good though when you state the facts (already seeing someone.) |

Nobody likes to be rejected but I think that I already know the odds if I am an older woman approaching a young man....
It happens the same thing to old men approaching young chicks... But I guess they all think it still is worth trying...nothing to lose anyway... Personally someone more than 10 younger than me or more than 15 yrs. older than me would be out of the question...!!! |

I want you to know, I am not bashing or trashing you, I am just giving me opinion on the written text in no way is it meant personally Hey Yaw..I'm back on with the tea again, now my folks of mingle2, what are your thoughts about older women younger man, older men younger? I have no problem with the age thing. My first husband was 24 years older than I was. Great marriage. I have dated 20 years younger no biggie. Age is subjective and a personal choice. I was out yesterday with 4 of my closes male friends righthhttt...So we go out for dinner and laughs,we doing what us guys do best is act silly and have fun. This beautiful older woman approached me smoothly & without a thought ask me could she buy me a drink ? I said sure. why not? ( Hey a free drink what anybody would agreed...lol). .
Why Not?? I remember another thread of yours where you shared you recently got engaged to someone. Before you accepted her offer did you tell you this. The first thought came to my head " Oh My God, this is somebody's grandma?"
Let me get this straight if she would have said 50,55, or 60 you might have been interested? But never less I wanted to be a gentlemen about this here. I told her I really appreciate you approaching me & it was nice of you buying a drink for me...but I have to let you know I am currently dating someone , and two you'll a little to old for me.
This is where I am a bit confused. It was okay when you didn't know her age or were you just looking for a free drink? Since you had to tell her you were seeing someone else. You stated you wanted to do the gentlemanly thing, did you offer to repay her for the drink you took from her? I Mean IMO I think that would have been the gentlemanly thing to do since you were already in a relationship.
Again in no way meant to bash or trash.. You have every right not to date anyone out of your comfort range.. In saying that you IMO should never had taken the drink offer being in a relationship that showed disrespect to said " relationship"... Now if you were single, and the offer was raised and the age thang turned you off, then by all means say no and offer to pay for the said drink. Do it kindly and respectively. You are flattered that she found you attractive and while you find her attractive, you personally are bothered by the age difference. Again thank you but no thank you.. As I have said age is subjective to each individual. When I was single and dating I had an age range, I dated 20 years younger and 15 older since most of the older gentlemen had to many health issues that I didn't want to deal with. OR they weren't as active as I am, some would fool me once in a while and they were wonderful men I enjoyed their company. too bloody hot for hot tea iced tea it is... |

was I wrong to let her down for her age?
What did you let her down from? All you say is she bought you a drink. There's nothing here that says she offered you sex, a sugar baby position, a desire to have your kids, whether she wanted to harvest your organs, or if she wanted to bring you up to her hotel room to have sex while her husband watched. did I do the right thing letting her know I was currently dating someone?
I think it was just a thing. Wasn't right or wrong. You don't mention what she wanted. For all I know she would want you to bring your girlfriend along for a 3 way or to swing with her husband. All she did was buy you a drink, and maybe want to talk to you. You felt it relevant to tell her you had a girlfriend. It's all about you. If you felt it was right, it was right. If you felt it was wrong, it was wrong. What would you do
Politely decline the offer unless it was just sent over for me to enjoy. how you view older / younger relationships?
Positively if I'm the one in the relationship and it's a good relationship. Negatively if there is someone I want to date but they're banging someone older or younger. Extremely negatively if one of them is a child. Don't care if it's between people I have no desire to date. |

ROFL!
Give this older woman some credit (although she probably has a 800 FICO score already LOL!) If she looked like Susan Lucci & approached this AA man w/dreads (based on photo), WHILE he was out w/his friends (more than 2 men out together = a "pack" as it's known to women), then she was looking for a ONS/NSA hookup for the night. Just like a real life cougar she approached the herd & tried to cull a prey animal. I don't think she was feeling "let down" at all, that woman just moved on to the next one. Of course 2Fly4Wings38 is giving himself too much credit b/c he assumes he was the "chosen" one...unless it was late in the evening & she was doing just what guys do all the time "it's late & I need to score tonight...hmmm, what's the best option out of what's left over in here tonight". If it was early in the evening, she still had lots of options. Every interaction has 3 sides: yours, theirs, & the bartenders... |
