I thought I would weigh in on this conversation about the whole sex change controvery being done by Bruce Jenner and it seems to me that all he is trying to do is Re-invent himself,but as another person because I think he misses the fame that he once had many years ago and he wants to get this back,even though I know that Bruce has said that he is doing this because he felt like he was more woman than man,but I don't totally buy his supposed story. I would say more that this guy is doing it more to get his fame back and in the process milk the system for as much money as he can as this new person Caitlyn.

I am hetero and agree , just as I support gay or any other variations and I will tell you why . What I consider to be avery wise older gentleman expressed to me the best take on this that I've ever heard . He said you don't choose it. It chooses you . Now think about that for a moment . The last thing I would want to do to someone who has struggled with this issue there entire life is judge and ridicule them . I mean really , who would willingly chose to do this . Especially being in the spotlight , having such an athlectic , male based background if the feeling was not incredibly overwhelming . So lets all cut some slack here , there are so many important issues out there that our efforts should be focused on . I agree with one son that said , of all his father's accomplishments , exposing this situation has been the most courageous . I also think many put so much emphasis on sex here . This is not about sex . Anyway I hope we all would have evolved enough to realize that prejudice in any form is ignorant . So lets just accept people for who they are as long as they are not hurting another . I say kudos to the family for their understanding and support .

Well , I respect others opinions , however can you honestly say , if you yourself were in this situation , that you would go through all that is entailed as an attempt to regain fame and notoriety . REALLY . Personally , there would not be enough recognition nor money in the world that would influence me enough to change my gender unless deep in my soul , there was a perpetual desire .

Yea , at one point , I kinda sorta thought that , as it may have saved his family from pain , but then I reconsidered and commended his courageousness for not only himself but giving others struggling with similar issues a voice . And as far as the family goes , he had to come clean with them regardless anyway and those who choose to ridicule family members , as if they had something to do with it are unfortunately cowards anyway . Bottom line is although I find the whole situation interesting it's really none of my or anyone else's dam business

who people 'are' is a combination of who they choose to be, how they choose to act, how they choose to present themselves

choices can be right or wrong, healthy or unhealthy , good or bad, popular or unpopular,,,etc,,,, and we judge them everyday by very nature of being human and finding standards for our own choices,,,

prejudice is to PREJUDGE,, there is no prejudice in stating someone who has laid down and made babies with a woman is NOT A WOMAN

Well, Jenner IS the one doing those reality shows and major media outlet interviews. If he didnt want mine, or others, opinions on what he's doing....for or against.....seems he coulda kept it solely his business.
Plus, this is a thread asking our opinions on this issue....kinda the point, aint it? Stating ones opinion (business) on the topic? Would be a boring forum if it were just just thread titles and opening posts


Again, does that apply to those who agree and support what Jenner is doing also? I hope so....it would be quite hypocritical if those who suppprt transgender issues ask for tolerance.....and, at the same time, arent tolerant of differing views.

1- He HAD fame, 40 yrs ago as an athlete.
2- He married 3 women & fathered six children.
3- The last wife, being the ex wife of a FAMOUS LAWYER.
4- He rode the coat tales of " Famous for NOT being famous " for years, with this woman & her attention seeking children. * Mostly using & leeching off of WOMEN *
5- He is still a "he " legally".
6- Now, he is divorced at 67 years old.

NO ONE & NOTHING, he probably can't accept that.
If he lives long enough for this upcoming reality (?) show to take off & then fade into obscurity, his life will too. And (sadly), he will probably go out in celebrity style leaving an autobiography for his children to stay rich off of, ,& for him to be famous in death & live forever.
He knows exactly what he is doing, just like his previous wife & her daughters. I don't pity him anymore than I do them.

Yes, it includes anyone who makes assumptions about "why" this person made the choices she made...

IMO, Jenner opting to take her decision public doesn't mean her reason(s) for the choices made are up for interpretation...In fact, it would spell the opposite to me...She wishes to tell her story her way and because she has celebrity status there are those who are willing to pay her to do so because they understand the market for her story is massive...

Giving an opinion on transgender choices is not the same as babbling about what you, I or anyone else considers to be her reason(s) for changing gender identity..Those are two separate issues and Jenner is the ONLY person qualified to speak on why she opted to make the changes she made...Everyone else's opinion about THAT is just white noise....IMO of course..

Now wait, seems to me they make it public business.. The public buys into that bullcrap they do.. They keep an eye on every move they make for some stupid reason??
