There are 2 Australian facing firing squad today for drug smuggling... The disturbing part is the Indonesians were tipped off BY THE AUSTRALIANS about the scheme to smuggle dope. Now the Australians are all up in arms about the sentence of death for 2 of their citizens?

Indisputable Heinous homicide should be the only reason someone is put to death, drug running doesn't cut it IMO

Yea, a little too extreme for me too. IMO

Well, I'd note that anyone who does decide to run drugs, is an idiot if they fail to check what they are risking first.

I can't get too upset about people who decided to try to get rich in a country who has such laws on the books.

As for what drug dealing actually costs, I know that SOME drug runners are killing people every day with the stuff they bring in. So the death penalty for pedaling poison isn't entirely outrageous.

So as with so many things, it depends on the details.

Being an Australian, I too find the decision OTT and extreme, however, there are political forces at play here as well, and Australia has no business in telling another nation how to conduct its Justice system.

There was a strong message to Australia throughout all of this play.
