Topic: Get Kinky With Me | |

I think they were played fairly well on Australian radio. I love them. I love the song ........ come dancin' about the big sister going out on a Saturday night ... a great band !!! Australian sensibilities are much closer to British than Americans. Americans never really got them because they were the most quintessentially British band of the era. |

My personal favorite, obviously... One of the best and most perfect pop/rock songs ever written, in my opinion.

The Kinks were/are big in America. Big, yes... However, based on their catalog they should have been right up there with The Who and The Stones. They are not for a variety of reasons. Sunny Afternoon |

I like The Kinks more than The Stones or The Who. I like them more than The Stones and about the same as The Who. I haven't liked the Stones all that much since the days of Mick Taylor. Celluloid Heroes |

I agree the kinks music was fantastic.

I think the kinks suffered from a combination of problems. Ray Davies was/is an a hole and kind of a weirdo. They didn't have the "cute" or "bad boy" image. They just looked like factory workers. They have an odd name, like and unfinished product. Also they never had great songs.
