Hey you peeps,wuss up? This question is for both men and women,but mostly for the women,tell me,say you like /love this guy/girl,alot right,but your friend /friends don't approve of it,do you listen to your friends,or do you actually have a mind of your own?Do you cater to what makes your friends happy,or do you have them respect YOUR wishes? Do have THEM,decide who's right or not right for you,or do YOU make that decision? Me,NOBODY decides for me,period,friends nor family! I'm sure interracial dating would come up in some your responses,but I feel that's another topic by itself,but I'm taking about just "friends approval" in general!!Lets chat!! Friends approval can be good and bad.... however sometimes friends can be jealous and may say something negative about the person you are interested in just coz they don't want to see you with that person....not for your benefit but their personal selfish issues....I've seen this a lot where the friends would disapprove of someone mainly coz of jealousy & its common amongst women...'' Hey did you know this guy is so and so''....''oh did you know this about him'.....''oh how do you know you're the only one''....and all sorts of s h I t I seen it all..... As for me nobody decides for me.... Gosh that is SO true! Esp the remote area I live in, only some 45,000 ppl on the island and peninsula, so everyone knows everyone and it always makes me feel that everyone did someone else at some point in their life. So finding a partner here... must be at least 1 of my friends saying "Oh, he did me when I was 16/20/34" Great prospect!! And indeed the "Did you know this!" Ewww.. that's the thing with some towns here....most people have done each other & its f**kd up.....luckily I've never been part of that system or believe in such loose morals

While I may hear out what my friends or family have to say I make my own decisions. That said I no longer live around any family and rarely introduce a guy I'm seeing to friends until it's become serious. By then, it's too late. Lol That's cool....we need more of you around .... It was already said, but: I can listen to them - just for being polite, but I�ll decide for myself. I can make a good or a bad dicision but it is only mine.

Rule #1. My friends have no say in who I date, or have a relationship with. Rule #2. The woman I date, or have a relationship with, has no say in who my friends are, or will be. Tell it like it is rock!! Meh... After a mistake that shall remain unnamed... Maybe I should seek and follow the advice of friends and family. Don't wanna go through another nightmare like that.

I decide for myself. Been there before and I did listen to my friends and family's objections, but did what I felt was right. In that particular case they turned out to be right, not me. But I prefer to learn and find out by myself. I used to be very sensitive for my dad's opinion, but he doesn't approve of any man for his little girl, lol. Quite endearing, although it does make his opinion rather useless. This is what I'm dreading, my Daughter bringing a guy to meet me. He better be ok or he'll be getting a kick up the azz and sent packing. Yes, it's kind of funny men get like that. But as long as you get over it at some point. My dad's 77 and I'm quite sure he still wouldn't approve of anyone I can understand though... After my last split-up he suddenly started behaving like some over the top alpha male. I think he's just scared I'm gonna get hurt again by some a-hole and he wants to protect me. In a way kind of cool that the need to protect never ceases in men/fathers, as long as that instinct doesn't interfere with the daughter standing on her own two feet.

My friends are the family I got to choose and I don't choose them lightly. Most of my friends will tell me to do what makes me happy. So its kind of a moot point. If they were the kind that were judgmental on others without really getting to know them then they probably wouldn't be my friends. edit- I also don't think I would choose someone that would rub my friends the wrong way anyway.
