Great pic.. I LOVE it. Sadly it is NO longer politically correct - under the current administration. Neither is calling illegals & aliens & non Americans.. What they actually are. They are shooting for ... It's Un-American & politicaly incorrect to be a patriot ( in the true sense). One world order- here we come. : it hasn't been 'politically' correct since long before this administration when the US codes were written establishing the 'proper' conduct with a flag I think you are replying to the wrong post. oh, then I'm flattered that you spent the time,,,lol politically correct was someone else's concern, I had no issue with the photo... |

It's a beautiful picture, and I don't see any offence in it. I would be proud of the family who wanted to honor both their child and the flag in such a way.
To me this picture shows America and all its glory cradling and holding a child up to the world. I don't see how the flag could ever be dishonored in such a way, and there is nothing that would convince me otherwise. By the way I have read the code of conduct for the national flag. Since there are multiple cases where many people have broken it (including our government), like for example Uncle Sam, I still see no reason for insinuating that this picture dishonors the flag. |

Personally...I think the worst thing that has been done to the American flag...having it manufactured and mass produced in other countries....sad we won't employ our own people to make our own flag....

I've been in some of these factories.. and let me tell you, there is no "proper" handling... it is treated like any other peace of cloth they are working with. bins.. floor.. wherever. "They" really don't give a s*** It doesn't somehow get " blessed" at our boarders. |

February-2014 the US Military bans American flags made in China. * Ref: The inquisitor, Fox News, Huffington Post* IMO. We as Americans keep missing the mark as to what to be concerned about & offended by . |

The U.S. military should not have been purchasing flags from China in the first place.. shame on them
But the majority of the 97% of flag imported ( and not only from China) are destine for the American consumer. that has not changed.. shame on us. They are still cranking them out and we are still buying them... supply & demand But that is a bigger discussion for a different tread.. JMO |

I did a quick search on line and found a bunch of retailers that sell flags made in the US, including Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes. All you have to do is spend a little time to find them. Buy only American made.

I did a quick search on line and found a bunch of retailers that sell flags made in the US, including Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes. All you have to do is spend a little time to find them. Buy only American made. You can find them.. but that's the problem in a nutshell.. you have to look for them.. because "made in America" has become a niche market.. only a handful of easy to manufacture items. not common place practice. Entire industries are gone.. textiles, machinery, printing, consumer goods, plastics, electronics. ect ect. One of the issues is that its easy to say " make it in America", but the sub contracting companies that you need to make your product while thriving in America 30 years ago.. are now gone. So you can't get the components needed to make whatever you make ( with the exception of easy simple things). |

It's easy to say "buy American," but there are reasons that it's just not that easy. |

Personally...I think the worst thing that has been done to the American flag...having it manufactured and mass produced in other countries....sad we won't employ our own people to make our own flag.... it is sad, but you can thank the greedy unions for that...they pushed most of everything that was "made in America" to overseas manufacturing... |

That's one of several factors, but certainly not the least among them. And it's not necessarily the average rank and file union worker so much as the union leaders. Add that to the highest corporate tax in the world and it's no wonder "Made in America" is so hard to find. |
