Well, that was a whole bunch of Hadiths, of which I can't say I'm a supporter of. ********************************************************************************** Many a time I've had to give my children a spanking, and I'm a Man. If a Wife wishes to do so in my absents... Let Her. so,you do not support the Hadiths of your Prophet? http://www.wsj.com/articles/a-reformation-for-islam-1426859626 |

Why is it that Muslim men don't discipline their own children and that's the wife's job?? if you want to learn about Islam, go study ISLAM, don't study the Muslims or non Muslims. learn and read from Quran and what would the non-Muslim's reaction be when they read the verses that tell Muslims to fight infidels (non-Muslims) until they convert or pay (Jizyah) ? i still wounder why many Christians convert into Islam with the presence of such hateful verses .... i would like to know if Sheik read them before converting |

I am not against Islam , my whole family and most of my friends and colleagues are Muslims , i just want Muslims to rethink about the current situation of their religion ... it needs a real revolution to get rid of all the outdated aspects and laws , they can't keep convincing others about the humane nature of Islam when we witness the opposite by Muslims East and West ... look at British Muslims whose numbers in ISIS are increasing for example , you can't blame their society or country as people usually do to justify terrorism ( by blaming iniquity/ignorance in the non-developed countries ) as those guys had the best chances in the most civilized communities , the defect was in their ideology that encourages them to join the ranks of the most brutal and bloody terrorist organization ever ! |

And because there's no compulsion to convert to Islam, even-after-that, they at the very least are obliged to pay the same-amount as the Muslim community to the coffers of Charity. So, what's so bad about that ? Europeans have demanded restitution for countless wars all though the ages, and when the Muslim Community demands restitution for all the damage from those who were determined to destroy them... You Shout, "Foul!" Tell me Mr. Fox... Just how-much Lawlessness will You condone ? |

so,you do not support the Hadiths of your Prophet? http://www.wsj.com/articles/a-reformation-for-islam-1426859626 So, what's Your point Conrad_73...? Yes, I've been saying all-along that I have no use for Hadiths, and then You direct us to a Site that more-or-less confirms what I've been saying all-along... Are You trying to imply there's something there, when there isn't ? ****************************************************************************************************************************************** Now, I dually noted that Brother hafeezr80 used a very brief Hadith... A Hadith that is so brief and so non-controversial that nobody would have cause to have any dissention about it. Like I said before, "The Shorter The Hadith, The Less Likely There's Anything Disagreeable About It." (As They're Usually Just Good General Advice) ******************** And ******************** "The More Long-Winded The Hadith, The More Likely There's Something Wrong With It." |

*********** Correction Notice *********** ****************************************************************************************************************************************** Now, I dually noted that Brother hafeezr80 didn't used a very brief Hadith... A Hadith that is not so brief and so uncontroversial that nobody would have cause to have any dissention about it. Like I said before, "The Shorter The Hadith, The Less Likely There's Anything Disagreeable About It." (As They're Usually Just Good General Advice) ******************** And ******************** "The More Long-Winded The Hadith, The More Likely There's Something Wrong With It." Really, for as often as somebody does use a Hadith... I can't even bother to remember Who's Who. That's how-little I hold the Hadiths as being of any pertinence to the advancement of Islam. |

Every society has their own special way of being sexist. It is obvious the westerners here ignore their own brand of sexism when they make fun and question another society's brand of it. Why can't you all see that it's always wrong to treat women wrong no matter where or how or why? I talk about it all the time, still no one agrees here, but are ready to diss other cultures for the way they mistreat women when it is obvious none of you actually cares about how women are treated badly anyway. In some ways Muslims have more respect for women in some ways less, which is why it is intriguing for western women to want to learn more. For example Muslims revere women as mothers, in the west women are revered for their ability to remain sexy while being able to hang with the guys. Stoned to death takes some doing though right. Being found guilty of adultery even though the woman was raped. Like chalk and cheese. So are you saying some Muslim men are like this?? I want to know more about their lifestyle and how they treat their wife and children?? Debbie, I would recommend that you read " Girls of Riyadh" by Rajaa Alsanea. It was originally released in Arabic (and banned in Saudi Arabia) but now is available in English. Its based on true life stories of 4 young women who experienced 'love' and relationships differently from each other. You will see that there is really no one answer to your question "how they treat their wives and children". You'll be surprised to find that these true stories are no different to what you see around you (regarding cultures or even religions). Plus I work in Riyadh, women here are no different to other women elsewhere in the world. Their day to day family life may be a little bit more restricted (especially when it comes to dating) but everything else (including marriage) is the same as anywhere else. |

Messi, I don't treat women here any different to any other woman in any part of the world ... Why? Because I AM a woman myself. Plus I'm not married. And that's my truth. I don't know what truth you are referring to. Debbie; you were looking for answers, I was merely making a suggestion. Read the book, don't read it, it doesn't bother me one bit. ...And like I said, based on my personal experience with the women I work with here in Riyadh, relationships are not all bad (this is based on the info they share with me about their personal lives). Like anywhere else in the world, there are happy marriages and unhappy ones. Every woman has a different story to tell. |
