Topic: The extra pillow | |
---|---|
How many times have you waken up in the morning and rolled over onto that extra pillow laying next to you? I remember how that feels....the lonliness of the pillow untouched. There were times that I just couldn't stand to look at it and I would throw it across the room or to the foot of the bed.
Happily, that pillow is no longer empty on my bed. It is glorious to wake up and roll over and see that that pillow is no longer a bad reminder of all those lonley times. The comfort of a warm body next to me....to hear his breath next to me...to feel his arm around me as I sleep. I count myself lucky. I say all that, to say this. Don't ever give up. I spent over 5 years waiting to fill that pillow....many times I wanted to give up and even tried to give up, but something kept me going....pushing me to not give up. I know what that something is....actually...I know who he is.... We've been together over 4 months....happily...commited...I am home. |

you know.........when I first left my son's dad, I felt that lonely pillow syndrome but I strategically turned it so it would feel like a human laying next to me.........
Now, I dont do that anymore.......I kinda like a whole bed to roll around in....... |

Meltedice -- I'm happy for you!! My pillow is taken up by my german shepherd cross though UHG --- of course he doesn't quite cuddle like a human but he has ot have that head on the pillow and of course his paws are pushing me off the bed UHG.
The last boy friend I had wouldn't let the digs even in the room where my one has been able to go in and out of for over 10 years -- so I actually prefer it this way for now. Guess just too much hurt to think of filling that pillow yet with a human. CONGRATS to you and hope all works out wonderfully!!!!! |

the 20th of this month will be 10 years, so I know about the empty pillow syndrome, have just been trying to find another partner for only a couple of years. something I do a lot since I always wake up at least once during the night, switch pillows it always looks like someone has been there with you even though you know they have not.

Hey Widower.
The other pillow? If I push the kids, their 'stuff', and the cat off the bed, I might notice the other pillow... ..........give me another ten years and we'll talk... |

Hahaha....
Hard to be reminded of the empty pillow when ya don't have a bed... I have a 2br apartment... gave one room to each of my kiddies... I sleep on the couch... no room for an extra pillow. It's my way of coping. Presently, I have someone who could fill that empty pillow... however... he is stationed outside the US on Navy duty... So, I can say I am experiencing both worlds: Having the love of somebody every day... BUT still, having that loneliness of not having him around every day. |

If you strategically place all of your stuffed animals around the house, you may even think you have friends!!!!
