How do you tell the fake profiles on here apart from the real ones, I've looked through the matches a few times and I never get any responses, advice?

Hello....once you start taking to someone take note about their basic info. If the woman listed her age as 30 but tells you a different age (red flag). If she listed here location in Berkley, CA, and tells you she actually lives in Kasilof, AK taking care of her uncle who moved there from Isreal, then (red flag). A few examples. If they tell you they are madly in love with you on day two of chatting...something is up....

It works both ways too, guys that message me. They are usually in their 20's, from a country I never heard of. They contact me, give me their email, phone# and maybe even mention something in my profile that was not anything close to my profile!

Everything Moonboy said and more.... Watch the emails and you will notice they all say the same things. I think they all went to the same scamming class and copied each others notes. Good luck....and have patience, the right one will show up. |

I agree with what others have said, but even when everything seems alright take your time in getting to know more about them by email or preferably Skype. It took a few weeks before someone I thought was genuine asked me for money, you never send money to anyone you have only met online, it wasn't here on Mingle2 but it can happen on any dating site. Good luck in your search |

Be wary if someone you are chatting to asks to start emailing you directly, rather than through the site.
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. |

Heaven forbid that if you've been chatting awhile and ask to Skype! That will turn most off. I don't like BS and want to see and hear you speak.
No, there is no excuse for it. So, if I ever do talk to someone for a bit here and they don't want to Skype?? Adios....... Aloha, on the steel guitar. |

Skype is good, you know for sure you talking to a real person , same on the pics he/she sent you....
