If rights change, you don't support human rights. You support privileges granted by government overlords. of course rights change, they are arguable, unmeasurable, and determined according to the society defining them for themselves, they are not absolute or everyone around the world would have the same 'rights' of course they don't, but we assume our 'rights' are what everyone should live by,,, right : something to which one has a just claim: as I don't much buy into 'human rights' either, I just view things as humane or inhumane,,, and even that, is my opinion and perception, like everyone elses,, |

http://gunssaveus.com/is-this-a-joke-alabama-middle-school-principals-crazy-proposal-to-stop-armed-intruders-video/ Is this a joke? Alabama middle school principal's CRAZY proposal to stop armed intruders A Valley, Alabama middle school principal has a solution for armed intruder situations: give the students canned goods. Yes, just tell your child to hold this can of corn and, when they get close enough, chuck it at the person holding a gun. This won't work, and it's actually a very dangerous idea. Think about it, someone with a gun walks into a classroom and if you are a student you obviously won't have a gun. Would you think about finding your canned good and being the first brave soul to throw it and probably be the first shot? Idiocy of the anti-Gunners! Why do we protect our politicians and celebrities with guns, but our children with signs that say, "No Guns Allowed"? |

if you say so,,,,.
but try to come from Russia and have that relationship with your daughter or try to come from the Netherlands with weed or try to go to Israel and marry a same sex person then tell the cops about your 'rights' ,,,lol only our cultural philosophy that our way is the only way, makes us assume what we think are 'rights' are absolute for everyone,,, a 'just claim',, depends upon that society views on what is just,, and that is not an absolute around the world,,, here we think it is just to shoot a thief, in other countries they think it is just to cut off their hand,,,... its subjective to the society,, therefore not an absolute |

The average cop is also not a high profile target. Because children at school are not "high profile" they are less deserving of protection? |

its not about deserve, its about need
police stations are not safer because someone 'protects' them, or because they simply have more guns, they are safer because of the knowledge of the TRAINED personnel inside, and the severe consequences associated with even TOUCHING a police officer police stations NEED to have trained personnel who earned it through background research on their psyche and their skill and performance under pressure , because every job has to TRAIN their personnel for the job talking about 'freedoms',, how 'free' would a child be that had to go to school surrounded by adults with guns,, can't have it both ways. know why? cause all that constitutional right stuff is not so cut and dry,, some things that are a 'right' somewhere in the constitution can end up violating another 'right' somewhere else in that same document,,, I have an idea why don't we build schools inside of or next to police stations,, that solves it trained personnel right there on the spot, just by being at the police station they will be safer(according to common belief) and they wont have to feel a threat because those with the guns will be TRUSTED to have been checked and trained for their protection,,, |

So kids don't need to be protected? And those kids will be a lot more free if they survive the school day than if someone shoots up the school unchallenged. The average shooting of that magnitude is over in less than 5 minutes. It takes police an average of 10 minutes to arrive. So we can't allow someone to have a concealed weapon in that building just in case? What do you have against providing effective protection to children other? "I don't like guns" is not a sufficient argument, as you continually prove.

I protect my daughter by keeping guns away from her. Common sense.

I protect my daughter by keeping guns away from her. Common sense. Based on your ignorance of firearms, that's a wise decision. I also don't know the age of your daughter, which is a contributing factor. I am well informed about firearms and firearm safety, and because my kids are old enough to responsibly handle them, I share my knowledge and respect for them. |

By the way human rights, which I am not against, depend on how you define human, apparently that's been debatable in the past, so yes they do change. It used to be only the well to do white men were considered human in America.
My baby is 9 months, but at no age would I have a child around guns. There is no purpose for them except to kill, and that's not my thing. |

It used to be only the well to do white men were considered human in America. My baby is 9 months, but at no age would I have a child around guns. There is no purpose for them except to kill, and that's not my thing. Again, you show blatant ignorance about firearms. That ignorance unnecessarily perpetuates fear of them. And crack open a history book. Not only white men were considered human at any point in American history. Stop spreading propaganda. In some places, yes, that was true, but it wasn't the country as a whole. Tell the whole truth. |

Guns are for killing, I suppose they could be used in various ways to assert power over someone without actually firing the gun...but really none of it interests me. And why should it? This is 2014 and people are supposed to be able to survive without killing one another.
What other men were considered human? And by white, I do believe German settlers were not included for a while..I mean British. |

Your insults only show that you are not able to reason with anyone outside your narrow minded view of the world.

Ignorance means you lack information. It is not an insult. Sadly, however, you choose to remain ignorant.

What is wrong with that statement? |

This is 2014 and people are supposed to be able to survive without killing one another.
What is wrong with that statement? Other than it's 2015 and generally we don't live in fear of people trying to kill us? But just because it's not likely to happen doesn't mean we shouldn't have a means of defending ourselves. It's also unlikely that our houses are going to burn down, but I bet most of us have fire extinguishers just in case. Why? Because having what you don't need is always better than needing what you don't have. And you don't need a fire extinguisher. That's what the fire department is for. |
