comes down to personal choice. there is no right or wrong.
If I do not think the person is a scammer. I send a short messages. if for no other reason then to say " Hi and thanks for the message" |

It is rude. However, no response is a response. I agree ... |

So I guess finding a husband or soul mate is not going to happen here.. I would say fifty fifty chance... just enjoy the site ... see what happens op ... |

Why is it when you message someone they don't respond back..instead of saying hi..I'm not interested.. I think that's really rude.. Whats rude in real life may not be considered rude online. I'd rather have no response than a not interested response. Its just a different culture online. |

tt35, being from South Carolina also (Myrtle Beach) I think your just used to how friendly and polite the people are here in the deep south(We Are).Things move at a slower pace here but this is a international site and people are juggling, work, families, bills, etc so some people just don't have time to reply to all their messages. When it happens to me I take it as I am not their cup of tea so I don't get offended I just move on.I hope you find what your looking for, and don't take it so personal...Best wishes to you.

I am polite by nature. And, definitely do not get so many messages that I am unable to rely to them all...
Which is what I did in the beginning. Then I received several nasty messages to my polite responses. Very nasty and rude. After that, I simply delete the messages that I am not interested in... Which, so far, is basically all of them. Might not seem fair to judge all based on the actions of a few... But as i cannot know in advance which ones will verbally rip my head off... *shrug* |
