Why is it when you message someone they don't respond back..instead of saying hi..I'm not interested.. I think that's really rude..

I don't answer most of my messages. It's not a requirement on mingle2...Rude is my middle name...

Take no offense, it just seems to be the way the internet works, but I do agree with you and I try to respond to emails even when I am not interested. Apparently, some folk receive a hundred or so emails a day which means they spend all their time reading and just cannot reply to anyone. Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.

Blkstud I agree with you..our of respect you should respond..all you have to say is I'm not interested or your not what I'm looking for..that's better than being rude by not saying anything.

Why answer them? I didn't ask them to send me a message and it quite clearly states in my profile that i'm not looking for anyone, as i'm married. So if i don't answer to someone that i don't know anyway, there's your answer? I will answer someone that i know from the forums though, as there's some good people on here that i can get a laugh with.

As has been said many many many times before, "NO RESPONSE, IS A RESPONSE". It may seem rude and unfeeling not to respond to somebody's wink or "hi you're cute" E-mail, but some folks on here get dozens of those types of E-mails a day. And there are some folks who respond to a polite "no thanks" with some pretty nasty words.

I kinda agree with you,however,sometimes like some the folks here stated,people aren't always able to reply,some just don't for understandable reasons,some people don't know what to say at times,but besides all that,I think it IS common courtesy too,of course nobody has too,but if someone doesn't at least have the decency to respond back when nothing stopping them,then it's pretty simple for me,not only they're not interested,but such traits doesn't interest me,no love lost and non found!

It is common knowledge no response is an answer..... yes many here get huge amounts of mail, who has the time to reply to all of them..... especially when most of just say hi or hello....meh..... and when over 80% are just scammmers anyway..... ...attitude.....too bad....

My twin Zappy If you answer and most times they turn out to be a scammer playing on your compassion to do the right thing..... You must be new to this.... Its just part of this online dating site stuff sad to say.... There is always someone to rune anything for anyone, they want to take from you or cause misery. They aren't happy so why should you be.... Sociopath is the term... They come out of the woodwork at times...

Well I know for me the first thing is to what is written. If its only a one or two word letter for a first letter without a hi or how are you doing. I usually wont respond. Also I don't always respond right away because I'm not on all the time so I respond when I am. Keep your head up though and good luck.
