Topic: Hair Loss Remedies | |
---|---|
I have been researching hair loss lately and it seems that they are blaming DHT as the cause. After I made this discovering I began researching ways to reduce DHT and have found that low DHT can have sexual side effects.
With that being said, I would like to hear from others, both men and women regarding their hair loss and remedies that have worked for them and those that have not. From what I've learned it seems that I should just continue not to care and keep my hair short. However, if there are real solutions that may work, I'm willing to give them a try. Surgical procedures such as hair transplant are out of the question for me. Its really not that big of an issue for me. lol |

Thanks Tea and Red, I haven't heard of those being used, I'll research them.
Also, I'm not that young. lol Its pretty common for men to start losing their hair around their mid twenties, some start even earlier around their early twenties. |

I saw a guy in the supermarket the other day, wearing a wig that looked like a Badger had been superglued to his head! Me and the missus were laughing our heads off at it, as it looked ridiculous!! Why do people do this?

The herb Rosemary. Rosemary has shown to be helpful for some. Rosemary essential oil is relatively inexpensive and easy to find. Simply add a drop or two to when shampooing. It's not harsh and you should be able to use it every time you shampoo. ~M |

It's just hair.
I prefer baldness to low dht. Most of the men in my family have hair loss. Up side is, as you get older, you get hair growing in places you wouldn't expect it to. So if you opt for hair transplants, you have many places to harvest from. |

Permanent hair loss.. no idea.
Temp loss of hair, yes. Often to do with lots of stress, often starts happening once the stress is gone. Has a lot to do with the adrenalin glands --> adrenalin fatigue, which can be caused by stress. In such cases, getting rid of the stress is no 1 priority, rest as well, so the body can recuperate. Supplements might be needed to help the body recover. These can be alternative, best not go for Big Pharma stuff, as their solution is prolly hormonal stuff, which is not good at all. It took me a year to stop losing hair, started quite out of the blue, due to stress --> a 10 year 'happy' relationship with a narcissist did the trick for me. The drawback is that the supplements cost a bomb, but to me well worth it! You can get cheap supplements in a supermarket maybe, but these won't do you much good. Dosages too low or not organic, so the body can't do much with them (this goes for any vitamin / mineral supplement btw). Temporary hair loss can also have to do with lack of vit D. Best is to have your blood tested before taking vit D supplements though, as too much can do damage to the body: it accumulates and can cause crystallization of body tissue / cells. You best see a good, qualified alternative therapist to find out what the cause is, mine can scan the body using specialized equipment and computer programs, so you know within 2 minutes what's wrong. |

My hair was not growing at all after I cut it years ago until someone clued me into biotin, avalable at Wal-mart, and any vitamin shop. It works really great!

Also, I reda where if you do not have enough protein in your diet or if one wears hats it will stunt or stop hair growth.

Accept yourself for who.you are. If hair loss is your main concern you have nothing to worry about - in fact worrying could be making it worse.

Hair loss is just one of several issues of my concern. I went to the doctor yesterday for blood work and a check up to see if anything physical is attributing to the progression of my mental disorders. I'll see what they have to say once the lab results get back.
I'm suspecting I may have a thyroid issue that is causing the hair loss and agitating my mental disorders. Hopefully I can figure it out soon. I already have other issues being produced due to high dosage of medications. The issue with that is I have a very high tolerance for medications and over time my mental disorders have become resistant to treatment. The issues I have from the high doses of medications is muscle, joint, and bone aches and pains and kidney pain. I've also had a kidney stone and since then have had issues with my kidney. Hopefully I can figure out what's really going on soon so that all this can be taken care of and I can start to feel and function some what normal. |
