Why get offended?
Be a single mom for a month of your life... where your kids are fatherless and you struggle every day to make ends meet. Have the commonwealth of people around you judge you as a slutt or a gold digger looking for a daddy replacement... Give up the things YOU want so your kids have a great life... It is NOT an easy road to travel... especially at my age when all of my peers are going to clubs and bars and enjoying their youth... BUT it was MY choice. Having my kids was a decision I don't regret... However, to call my childen "baggage" is the same as calling them "ugly" or "little terrors"... They are beautiful people, full of warmth and love. So, yes, it bothers me that a fellow human being could think so negatively on a child just because they are part of a single-parent houselhold. Here's to hoping you sway your perspective prior to having children... because God forbid your kids grow up they are a a burden when they didn't ask to be here. |

i love kids... my dog and i go out regularly and hunt them... did you know if you throw in a little red onion takes the bitterness out. :) and of course capers... have to have that little bit of tangy...
i cook them, but i make sure that i leave a good raw chunk for my dog.. she likes her meat raw... we're sort of partial to the 4 and 5 year olds... usually mommy and daddy have fed them full of McDonalds and other crap so they're nice and plump little butter balls... i say keep the kids! feed the third world! |

Relationship Slag term (Baggage) includes but not limited to: Child support, alimony, car payments, mortgage payments, old girlfriends that won’t go away), ex-wives (that want go away), past legal problems, and of course mental problems (comes from all the above)…
Although I don't agree with some of them others do... |

I never considered my kids baggage, nor anyone that I was invovled with (their children as baggage).
Now this pouch of a tummy around the middle (thanks to gravity and age)...... that I consider BAGGAGE!!!!!! |

I feel like whittleing everything down so it will fit in to one piece of luggage. I have no real baggage. Never married, no kids, no pets. Just a lot of iron! Time to sell it all.
A good friend of mine once said,"A man shouldn't own anything more than what he can carry on his back". I don't think even Atlas could hold all the crap that I have over his head! |

Ok, here's my take on this. I think using the word "baggage" and children in the same sentence is the reason you are getting your tush chewed. but; I can also see the question you are asking. here for you is an answer, I am not saying it is the right one but is an answer never-the less. With age comes experience and in gaining that experience we ( the older ones ) pick up a lot along the way, how we deal with it is entirely up to us as individuals. If we take negative expierences into new relationships then I suppose this can then be deemed as "baggage " to a new partner. The very fact that you see children as baggage tells me that you are not ready for a relationship with someone who has had children from a previous union.

Mine squash the bananas with their feet when I make homemade banana bread... and my son earns his lunch money by working weekends at the local gym shoe sweat shop making shoes for overpriveleged suburbanite brats!
Baggage is dead weight. My children certainly contribute to life. |
