Hello. I know some people don't use their own face in the photos..sometimes its animals or flowers etc. What confuses me is when it says a male looking for a female but has a female profile photo? Anyone?

Or people who post pictures other than than own.
The pictures I posted are me. If I were going to lie, I sure would have posted different pictures. LOL |

A lot of people want to express themselves in ways other than their own appearance. I just joined yesterday, and I've already seen lots of "artsy" photos, anime, pictures of dogs and/or cats, etc. I've been thinking about writing a thread about what might a good or "best" kind of primary profile picture, to help people before they get their profiles rated, including their pictures.
I have to say that it's kind of annoying to be looking for human contact, and all you're seeing is some funny Lolcats inspirational poster. That's great if it captures your personality, but I wouldn't want to see it as a primary/main photo. |

Yeah, next thing you know some freakin' weirdo will be using a mutant poodle for their main profile pic.

Hi Angeltripping17,
I tend to think that the guys with a profile photo of a woman are telling the female viewers what they want their ideal female to look like. They are also unintentionally telling the women on this site that they themselves must not be anywhere near that ideal in terms of male attractiveness & confidence, if they can't post at least one real photo of themselves on a dating site. IMO unless their profile is detailed & properly spelled, correct grammar etc., I would be very wary of responding to any message they send you b/c a lot of scammers obviously wouldn't post their own picture. Be careful... |

That is the man's way of showing you what he looks like in drag. |

I feel that putting the wrong gender photo is wrong, stupid, deceiving, immature, and shouldn't be allowed, and obviously these people want to play games, and if I offend anyone doing it,GREAT!!

Hello. I know some people don't use their own face in the photos..sometimes its animals or flowers etc. My belief would be that: A: They are married or in a relationship and they do not want their significant other finding them online. B: They are insecure about the way they look and do not want to show a picture of themselves. C: They are wanted by the law. D: They are so amazingly good looking they must hide it from all of us common folk. E: All of the above |

In fairness, being insecure about the way I - I mean, somebody - looks doesn't mean that I - I mean, some people - won't post pictures of themselves up. It's kind of handy to have the "Rate My Profile" board, including one's picture.
Though for some of u- er, some people out there, they might have good reason to feel somewhat bashful. On one dating site - not Mingle Squared - I got some random message from some random user telling me "damn ur ugly". Now, I know I'm not a 10/10, but "damn ugly" is going a little far, in my own honest opinion. So while I can understand why some people wouldn't necessarily want to post a picture of themselves in their own online profile... I think you'll get a lot farther being yourself than being something/somebody else. |

I know some professionals or prominent business individuals won't post their picture, as it would not do if their business associates found out that they are on a dating site. But they don't hesitate to show it to you offsite, and so, I respect that reason.
As for me, my pictures are not the side that I present when I am working, so, I hope people I deal with at work do not recognize me! |
