Topic: Muslim terrorists just like Muhammad | |

DUBAI (Reuters) - A prominent Saudi Arabian cleric has whipped up controversy by issuing a religious ruling forbidding the building of snowmen, described them as anti-Islamic. Asked on a religious website if it was permissible for fathers to build snowmen for their children after a snowstorm in the country's north, Sheikh Mohammed Saleh al-Munajjid replied: "It is not permitted to make a statue out of snow, even by way of play and fun." Quoting from Muslim scholars, Sheikh Munajjid argued that to build a snowman was to create an image of a human being, an action considered sinful under the kingdom's strict interpretation of Sunni Islam. "God has given people space to make whatever they want which does not have a soul, including trees, ships, fruits, buildings and so on," he wrote in his ruling. That provoked swift responses from Twitter users writing in Arabic and identifying themselves with Arab names. "They are afraid for their faith of everything ... sick minds," one Twitter user wrote. Another posted a photo of a man in formal Arab garb holding the arm of a "snow bride" wearing a bra and lipstick. "The reason for the ban is fear of sedition," he wrote. A third said the country was plagued by two types of people: "A people looking for a fatwa (religious ruling) for everything in their lives, and a cleric who wants to interfere in everything in the lives of others through a fatwa," the user wrote. Sheikh Munajjid had some supporters, however. "It (building snowmen) is imitating the infidels, it promotes lustiness and eroticism," one wrote. "May God preserve the scholars, for they enjoy sharp vision and recognize matters that even Satan does not think about." Snow has covered upland areas of Tabuk province near Saudi Arabia's border with Jordan for the third consecutive year as cold weather swept across the Middle East. http://news.yahoo.com/saudi-cleric-condemns-snowmen-anti-islamic-125135293.html the insanity continues... Sure it promotes lustiness and eroticism.... lol |

... but I don't like the game of my religion is better than your religion,,,
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Are you disagreeing with Jesus? Im questioning whether this means that Christianity is the only way? or will Jesus only save those who call themselves Christian? and not those who call themselves anything else? is this an instruction to live according to the example of Christ? or does it mean follow the Christian religion? many religions have some of the same teachings of love and peace and charity that our bible does,, do people following those not receive salvation because the book is called something different? or is the living and the loving your neighbor truly the most VALUABLE of all commandments? what is it that makes Jesus know us? I do believe that unless he does, we wont enter Heaven. I don't believe that he only knows 'christians' |

Question Maxisu...
Earlier You said something to the effect, 'My Angels tell me otherwise...' May I ask...? Are Angels literally speaking to You or do You just have a vivid imagination? (No Ridicule Intended Here) |

Dear msharmony,
Many may erroneously assume that membership has its privileges and in believing as such somehow exempts them from any obligation to actually do anything. (Kind Of Like Having A Lucky Rabbit's Foot) In contrast, Jesus said, "Faith without works is dead." To be sure, original Christianity has its prerequisites, but which format among all the various churches of Christendom follow those original prerequisites? |

sheik
I am reminded of a story my mother told me about how an employee would always try to get his coworkers to join his church, claiming that it was the only way to get into heaven my mom wondered, if that meant everyone that existed in places other than that church or before that church was erected, were doomed to be kept out of heaven,,, I similarly and genuinely wonder, in aligning with the life and example of Christ if those who do his work may not even know they are doing it,,,,being almighty that he is, and if doing his work is a form of faith that's just as or even more worthy of salvation because it is done from someplace natural and not learned? for this reason, I have an open mind as to how to translate all the verses stating that the only way to the Father is through the son and that only Jesus can save. I see no reason that Jesus salvation would only exist for those who hold to or study a certain religious book over others. which is why I am weary of claiming that those of other religions wont be saved by Christ,,, If IM correct even the catholic council declared this interpretation,,,, be blessed |

I'm sorry msharmony, but the right side of my screen is gone again.
I can't read all that you've replied to me about what was being discussed. I suspect it's these HUGE pictures that cause this to occur. |

I regret not being able to read all of what is on the previous page as the entire left side has been blacked-out due to reasons beyond my control. (Probably Another Virus) I've noticed that as soon as I'm able to say anything others may resent... I'm hacked! It could very well be these HUGE pictures that others are capable of putting on these pages somehow disrupt the width of the page. Is JOHNN111 finished making accusations about me? Is he still on line? not a virus, someone put a pic on there to big... there's a scroll bar at the bottom to scroll right and left I ahve already explained to him also how to deal with this but he only has ears for those who tolerate Isalm. That's a lot to ask these days. As for Mortman. There is certainly some truth to your cartoon, but the magnitude of difference can't even be compared. |

Thank You again for being so accommodating msharmony.
When I was young, I often asked myself the same types of questions you're asking. My father was a hard-lined Catholic who also believed that his church was the only church (That Is To Say Format) and all other churches that weren't Catholic were in a state of apostasy and therefore dammed. I often reminded myself of the story of the Good Sumerian and wondered how that wasn't on-board with what my dad thought. I found it refreshing to read in the Quran, that among those who'd call themselves Christians and worship the One true God as they ought, and don't confuse of associate any other gods with Him, will have no fear on judgement day. This, at least was a much more accommodating hope even if it did still have its own caveat. |

I'll just talk directly on your own Mingle Profile Page msharmony or You can send to my page if You wish.
This goes for Maxisu as well. All the rest of the ingrates on this forum are determined not to let me read anything at length anyways, now that they've discovered a way to block my reading everybody else' threads. |

You have more expereince in talking with him and on the politics forum in general. I had thought about the phone but I have considered that he simply may not have seen the post. Now he seems to think we are doing it to him and calling us ingrates that doesn't seem very open, Moe. I was thinking that much of this probably belongs in the religion thread. but with the events in France it can be seen from both areas (politics & religion). |
