Ok, so maybe it was just the salad lol, but reading some posts on here lately, I'm wondering:

Has ANYONE on this site manage to actually meet someone local to them? Like say within 50 miles or so.

I know that some of you have met your match on here, but as far as I can tell they's all long distance ones. And from my brief experience the only local answers I ever got were suspected scammers who wanted my phone number right away. And the rest were long distance ones, some of them also scammers.

Am I just being paranoid here? I'd like to hear from anyone, just anyone, who has actually met someone local through this site.

I don't think your being paranoid at all. I went out with someone I met on here but to be honest mingle is a international site and most conversations are from a distance. I have come across scammers but in life they are everywhere. The local dating sites seem to be better for actual interests and meeting but I enjoy the emails from different places.

I'm starting to feel like in one of those scifi movies where you're in a world where only ten people are real and the rest are props operated by alien puppet masters. Lol.

Hey mini...I met a fellow female mingler last december 7. My first time to meet someone from here. But we've known each other for months before the meeting and had conversations on phone and chats. It was a wonderful experience for me because we get along well.

Yes, we lived in two different cities. We met halfway. Distance doesnt matter as long as we know how to head back home...lol. Awesome indeed!

Thanks all for the replies. It is very encouraging to hear them. I'm still not quite ready to date even if I was once listed as such and probably still am on other sites lol. I just got paranoid... maybe it was the salad or the insomnia... or both lol.

As far as Waldo, I do swear I have at least one doppelganger on this planet. I even got a glimpse of one, in the beggining scene of Peacemaker. I swear it's not the salad talking! Lol.

Blondey, you know I've got all fingers and toes crossed about Fox's situation. I'd cross my eyes too but then my spelling would suffer lol. When all this is over, it'll be one hell of a story!

i met 1 person from here (she doesn't use the forums).we spent the night together halloween night.i came home the next day and a week later i never heard from her again

I met one person here briefly. She was hospitalized, and so, I visited her.

I have dated several local women that I met on this site. I'm not prepared to travel and the furthest away was one from Glasgow and she came here.

Not only have I had a relationship with a girl from here but I've also met her friends. I had two girls using the same acount just to talk to me and we aranged meetings that way.

I understand your pain. This was the first dating site I joined up to; a baptism by fire I can tell you. But I've been on a few sites now and I think this is best overall. I've been on sites where one moment it's free, then the next it's not. And it doesn't matter if you're making progress with someone, they just change the rules without giving you any notice. They may have more women and that's great but you never know when your account is going to disappear. At least on here you know where you stand. You can't even delete your account on here haha! You're here for life mate! No, there are real women on here, and I've met a couple of them.

I think people exaggerate about the scams on here. Because I haven't encountered that many.

It's got to be easier for Americans to hook up on here surely? You think you got it bad, the same inactive profiles I saw when I joined are still on here now. I must've clicked on their profile countless times by now, mostly by accident. So if they ever decide to come back they're going to see about twenty hits on their profile all from the same person. I've got no chance with them now.

I'm actually hoping to not meet anyone local. Not a plethora of dateable men where I'm at. Besides, I plan on moving at some point and I learned my lesson about staying around for a boy.

On a side note: Blondey and Fox, I wish you nothing but the best and will keep my fingers crossed. You two will definitely make it work!
