What do you think hundreds of suicide or depressed letters/notes means?

I recently just found a large box of letters/notes talking about sadness, suicide, depression, etc. etc. Dating back 17 years to present.

This person always tries to have a good time, smiles a lot and tries hard to just live a simple happy life. Unfortunately this person also runs and hides from dramas and relationships in their life constantly.

Being that these have been written over the course of 17 years it possible that it is this persons way of dealing with their sadness...my daughter does that...but I don't know what to say as far as what you should do about it...maybe let said person know that your there if they need someone to talk to...other then that...if this was something kept hidden said person may not appreciate you finding them...

Yes, it is very much possible. But there are letters from other people written talking about their concern for this person. Or letters saying when the time is right I will do it. Or, I am going to do it and nobody will care.

If this person doesn't appreciate me finding them then possibly this person never should have fled from their family in the middle of the night without them lol.

I really am not laughing, the things I have read have made me rethink everything about the relationship. Makes me want to take away some things from the past, or add some things to the past. I never knew this person was so hurt inside.

Actually I am with a smile on my face laughing at how one thinks I am angry. Typed words no matter what they say are always taken the wrong way. You cant hear my tone nor see my expressions. You cant see my happiness nor my sadness. You cant see my frustrations nor my concerns.

An unwise soul would push blame on others whom know nothing of the matter at hand.

Mental illness runs deep, and if communication was never granted for the topic then how was one to know?

My pain is in their sufferings. Wish this person was not hurt on the inside.

Assumptions can and have ruined relationships since the beginning of time. Sometimes one is so lost that all they have left is to assume. Weird!

It sounds like someone crying out for help and wanting someone to listen. If you are friends with this person take time out to listen to them they need your friendship. Also try to steer them to talk to a professional about their thoughts there is no shame in looking for help on dealing with life. Every life is valuable and we are all Gods children.Good luck and best wishes.

If you don't know where to start, this may help.

Being a compassionate listener is much more important than giving advice. You don't have to try to "fix" the person; you just have to be a good listener. Often, the simple act of talking to someone face to face can be an enormous help to someone suffering from depression.

Encourage her to talk to you about her feelings, and be willing to listen without judgement. Don't expect a single conversation to be the end of it. Depressed people tend to withdraw from others and isolate themselves. You may need to express your concern and willingness to listen over and over again. Be gentle, yet persistent.

Last but not least seek help from a mental health professional +CBT.

Let them come to you, but be inviting and warm to help encourage them. I wouldn't bring it up unless they do or the moment is right. Gently encourage them to seek help. Try not to be judgmental or anything simply listen and help or at least point them in the right direction.

They may not have wanted to find the letters, but you have found them for a reason.

I would have to say the person is the most beautiful soul I have ever placed eyes on. The sexiest of human creatures. Both inner and outer as well. But ones troubles within, no one soul should find sexy. Excepting with an open heart and ear, but not sexy.
