Topic: Is it rude ? | |
---|---|
you know what.. when I first got on to m2.. I was so excited to get a message... yay I have mail..lol... .... but then I started to realize... . when you engage with somebody... you are opening a door for them to walk into whenever they want.. literally..... so you message me.. and then realize we're not a match... now you have to tell me that... somehow... without hurting my feelings.... or having me assume.. there is something wrong with me... Ok.. smart *****.. there is something wrong with me...lmao... so after a while... you come to the conclusion.. . it's best not to return all messages... .. and yes it is rude.... I mean I was raised to believe.. if somebody is speaking to you you should listen and reply... but online rules are a little different.. that is even viewing someone... can be an issue.. they view your profile.. you view their profile... realize they are not a match.... now they know you viewed them....sooooo....hmmm.... you can see where I'm going with this...lol.. . Got it! And BTW, I like that photo on your profile. |

. with somebody.. who you probably are never going to meet... unless you just want a. pen pal...are cyber sex.. ...lol.... for myself it has become exhausting..... the pen pal part.. not the cyber sex part..lmao . |

While not replying to a message is one form of an answer because it shows a lack of interest, is it also being rude ? No, it is not being rude. What is rude is insisting that people have a duty or an obligation to reply to messages sent by complete strangers. ...uhhh'yeh..really agree! drop him/her a message or two and u never get aNy repLy,,it simply mEans that he/she dont want to chat with'u..(silence way) and its not rudenEss.. just being true to his/herself! hEHe.. |

@ NoMindGamesPlease
Would that have been me that you mistakenly send a message to ? I already thought it was a mistake. Because i saw your name on the forum where i was posting. Today i messed up too. By mistakenly clicking on a guy his name But i was just trying to read the forum text. I usually put this in my profile: "If i do not respond to your message, please do not feel offended by it. Because i do not like to send a message back and reject someone with it. I rather prefer to be silent then. What i define as beauty is different from person to person. Who am i to judge you ? I am only following my heart." This seems to help... I never get any bad replies back |

While not replying to a message is one form of an answer because it shows a lack of interest, is it also being rude ? It depends on the message...If someone invests time and thought into sending me a nice message, I would consider it rude if I didn't reply... |

Saying that it is rude not to reply to unsolicited mail from a complete stranger is akin to saying that it is rude not answer your phone when a telemarketer calls. . and start a conversation with you... ..ok. |

I agree Leigh,a good and well thought out message deserves the courtesy of a reply... I disagree. No message "deserves" a reply. A message can earn a reply. |

I hope people... well all of you..lol.. don't think I'm being rude.... if I don't reply to... something you have posted.. in response to something I have posted.... because honestly..lol.. Have the time.. I don't take myself very seriously..... I mean we all understand.... that I am a bit of a flake right...lmao... I'm OK... if you don't reply to the things I say... that obviously don't need a reply to.... just wanted to put that out there..... and for Stan.

If its from someone you know and if the message merits a reply then its polite to reply..but if the message is unsolicited or unwanted then it would be silly to reply..

Sounds like everyone is in agreement. I've always felt that ignoring someone who is speaking to you is rude. I guess I haven't dealt with the cyber world long enough yet to learn how it is in this dimension. Thank you for your feedback.

...I've always felt that ignoring someone who is speaking to you is rude... That's why it's a good idea to read profiles, first. Many of us say, "Just here for the forums". Ignoring what WE'VE said and sending a private message to our inboxes, anyway, IS rude. I, for one, have a tendency to treat people as I've been treated; if they're going to ignore me when demanding my attention, I'll simply return the favor. |
