Ok,my question for anyone, who lives among bears, mountain lions,ya know, stuff ya gata be keeping your eyes open all the time for? Killer snakes whatever! Where I live, in the mountains, almost a mile above sea level, we have all of this, and then some. In the last month, 17 black bears have been captured in my small town. Unfortunately, three had to be euthanized. I have a huge mountain lion female that uses my property as part of her 'highway'. She's a big one with an 8 foot stride and paws that are 6.5 inches across. I've had a little face time with her and she's beautiful! We guesstimate her at about 200 lbs., which is really big. This summer, I've had to kill two Mojave Green rattlesnakes and a huge Timber Diamondback. All came into my backyard, in town. We also have two kinds of skunks, black and brown. We have coyotes, foxes, lynx, deer, and I saw my first elk since I moved here, they are rarely down this far south. We also have feral pigs, which are dangerous and a nuisance to crops and gardens. Yes, when one takes a nature walk where I live, you do become part of the food chain. Which is why it is not uncommon to be armed in some fashion while out enjoying the wilderness. Caution needs to be exercised and I always 'train' the newbies on what to be aware of while enjoying my beautiful mountain. |

I have a question for DodoDave.. .. how long have you been ,a fan of elf.. elf? He's lost it ... silver addiction ... silver should come with warnings, like tobacco and cigs: effects common sense, reduces quality of sperm, affects sex drive, shrivels left hemisphere of brain (typos). But Elf could be okay, Fairies ... also less hairy |

hiya crystal .. Surgeons and doctors often have the difficult job of telling patients /families negative outcomes and sadly when there is no more that can be done .. Never an easy job and I can relate to the second guessing that occurs.. Did they make the right call ... Did they do enough. They direct the order to stop a resuscitation and determine when to withdraw care. Nurses on the other hand are at the bedside and their presence is there 24/7. It really is a team effort and each specialty has its own experience of death. It is impossible not to be touched or affected. The sadness however is offset by the satisfaction of seeing people survive ... The courage and bravery of those we serve :-) Blondey111 : Always have the highest admiration for nurses and reading your reply....hats off to you! Keep it up...really admire you! |

I'm real disappointed! The picture had a golden cast on my tablet screen, so I assumed it was gold, and noticed only the weight! No1, I was just kidding all along! Obviously you couldn't email a bar of silver/gold unless you had Star Trek's Intra-Molecular Transporter (beam me up Scotty) technology! |

Yes.. it looks golden on my screen too..lol.... and who told you I had a transporter..lol....

However, I went to Africa around 3 years ago for what was supposed to be a month, but I got Malaria and it's put me off being in the bush for life. |
