ISIS is not only killing people that don't conform to its harsh version of Islam, it is also trying to erase all traces of their history and culture. It cares not one with how old or unique these buildings and monuments are. For instance, the mosque of Yunus (Jonah) was built on an archeological site the oldest parts of which date back to the 8th century BC. In short, there are buildings in Iraq that have survived 2,800 years of upheaval and strife, but they haven't survived the coming of ISIS. Apparently ISIS considers all the shrines and mosques it destroys "places of apostasy". In the course of its rampage it has also burned the books of the Diyala province's library, so reading is apparently a no-no for ISIS as well. Meanwhile, the moderates of Islam do nothing but sit and cower. What are the other powerful Arab nations in the middle east doing? Nothing.

america is not like other western countries in their government or their culture we have MUCH higher gun ownership and much LESS universal social assistance,,, Less universal social assistance? Perhaps you mean "less government-provided social assistance". whichever term you used the european countries most refer to, are the ones whose people/government are also more willing to collectively look after each other,,,, Baloney!!!! care to elaborate? when most refer to Europe, they think only of the tourist traps like France, Italy, Sweden,,,,etc,,(most dont think of Russia, or Serbia,, for instance) places which value their citizens with things like paid maternal leave, family allowances, universal health care,,,etc,,,, the 'culture' usually correlates its homicide rate with how it values human life in its political policies and social values,,, Unfortunately, many Americans have become entitlement dependent and don't want to work. When the see the things that others have they would rather steal or rob than to work for it. What's puzzling to me is. How can millions of illegals come to America, find work and manage some how to succeed and provide for their families? They work and never seek assistance.

They work and never seek assistance. the claims here: people don't want to work (whether that's some or many is really not provable) is as true as the claim that people DO want to work (again, whether that's many or some is not provable) people prefer robbing and stealing to working is true in every culture and nation,, its the diversity of human beings it doesn't puzzle me how illegals manage to 'succeed' because I don't think most do, but they do survive better than they could in their native homes,,, some illegals seek assistance and some do not,,,, part of that may be more about fear of being deported than any superior ethic as I think is meant to be implied here,,,,just like an illegal is often less likely to ask for POLICE Assistance,,,,but not because they face any fewer dangers than anyone else

Some illegals seek assistance but don't live off of it. I would think that getting shot or killed would be a good deterrent, but apparently it's not
