im getting asked to go to gmail and other places to chat is this a safe thing to do

not really...most of the people that ask you to chat on email instaed of Skype, text and/or call is considered a SCAM!!!!! Be careful with them scammers

if someone has a genuine interest in getting to know you, they will stay and talk to you here on Mingle. when people say they are not here often enough, I just say sorry to hear that, and wish them the best.

You don't need to go to gmail or other places for written communication unless either you or another person plans on leaving Mingle2.

not on here with someone you don;t know well because there is no reason you can't chat on here on this site. They are spammers, possibly scammers .... block & delete

it's ok to chat outside mingle if you want to chat with videocall on skype or yahoo messenger, if the person you want to chat with will also let you view his cam. If she/he will do then he/she is real.

Dont go the gmail route, this site is perfectly alright for what you want.
Maybe a cam, I don't even have a cam.

Too make your experience better I think you need to add a bunch of pics...candid, formal, silly....shirt on bro, and just add more info in your profile.
I think the scammers that target men right now, are targeting heavily the profiles that have little or no info in them.

Join in the forums you will meet heaps of real, fun, interesting people. Have a say on what interests you and before you know it girls that like what you have to say will contact you. Even if they don't post, there is a huge amount of people that just read and observe.

Good on you for popping up, at least this place gives you a public viewing.

Kind of. I don't trust easily. I'm very careful about who to let into my life. One day, some want to talk, the next, they're gone. Those kinds are just here to mess people around. Hard to tell if they're being genuine. Making friends in the forums is a good way to get to know people. Some just want instant gratification I'm afraid. Try keeping conversations flowing, to keep their interest.

It's up to you. If you have chatted and emailed for several months it maybe worth to not have to type and use video chat. Just be sure they are not scammers...
