We all want to feel in control of our lives, our emotions, ourselves, our destiny... Some of us take the wheel naturally, while others need to be driven to succeed.

Do you feel more comfortable letting others take the lead... or do you prefer to always be in control even if you might crash and burn on occasion?

Do you know what, if anything inspires you to be one way or the other? Can you be both a driver and a passenger effectively?

Me personally... my parents, God rest their souls, were strict about teaching me to think and act independently even though I was a girl and it wasn't quite mainstream yet for women to stand on their own.

But, raise a child in the way they should go and when they're old they won't turn from it... So...

Despite my many ups and downs, success and failures I still prefer to be in control of my life and my soul. Because ultimately, I'm the only one that knows what really makes me happy and how to achieve things in the ways that suit me best.

To me, living life isn't about always giving of oneself to others until there's nothing left. It's about being the best we can be and trying to help others be the best they can be too.

And sometimes that means that I have to take the wheel and drive for a while until others gain enough confidence to steer, and then I hand it over so I can relax and be driven for a while too.

I get that completely about needing to have control professionally. For me it's about getting things done right the first time so there's no mistakes, mine or another's that I have to waste time cleaning up.

I like to be in control of my own life. I just like to make sure everything is running as it should be.

I will always take control of my own life. I believe in destiny to a point, but ultimately it is US who create our destiny, or it is US who DON'T create our destiny.

Whatever happens is a result of our actions. That is what I believe.

I'm the guy that increases speed and lets go of the steering wheel while looking at my passengers and saying "Let's see if we fly."
