Topic: I value integrity over looks...am I alone..? | |
---|---|
Am I the only one who is no longer so interested in looks...? In my oldish age (53) i find that a kind heart who can make me smile is first and formost (and mental stability of course!). A genuine kind old soul is so much more valuable then a large bank account.

Time changes many things. I think life experiences teach what is truely important. I find it strange, my looks have changed so little, what I was told made me look old, now makes me look young, so I am told. Maybe it is that I stay active & refuse to slow down.

She is talking about integrity Sage, not vanity...Things like vanity and gossip would qualify as antonyms for integrity I would think.... :~) |

As many women might consider me a double-bagger, they would be looking at me for my integrity and sexual abilities.

Yes I am also at that point. When I was younger and newly divorced, I thought all I needed was eye candy. But the problem was that many beautiful people tend to behave like some wealthy people: They may not get around to developing a personality or any character. But I also value those.

Real integrity is hard to find these days.
A lot of people who think they have it need to get out their dictionaries. |

There is no requirement to respond when people behave in a way that seems unjust. :)

I agree whole heartedly! Honor, integrity and respect are far more important than looks.

Looks will always be important regardless of what we say, but to me beautiful is what is in the heart what you have to offer someone else, the type of person you are. I am told by my friends that I am beautiful but I am not stupid enough to believe they are talking about appearances. They mean as a person who is willing to help others. To me this is more important than anything else they could say.

I place a very high value on integrity. To me it is the prime attribute I look for in a man. A man of integrity will stand on his values despite what everyone else does all around him. He will stand as the tallest, strongest tree in the entire forest IMHO. Looks are a dime a dozen, and without integrity, man won't hold my interest for very long.

I'm now 55 and have never chased looks or a particular body shape either, I know only too well about shallow materialistic women 2 years ago after 8 unhappy years I divorced a particularly nasty piece of work who knew the price of everything and the value of nothing. I personally don't do shallow so I feel that a beautiful lady is a combination of many natural components, looks and body shape come way down the list of priorities for me and are a very small part of the jigsaw.

One cannot earn respect without having integrity, and one cannot expect friendship and love if they aren't respected.
