I know women do it all the time but what about men. It's harder for men because they have to get it up.

We women do this all the time??
Must have missed that memo.
Man, I better get off this site and make up for lost time!!
Not.

Why would anyone have sex without an attraction physical or emotional?
because it is a basic need and not everyone shares the same morals or views about sex

But it's not a "need" in this context. The only "need" for sex is reproduction.
so says god aye

??? may I ask why you feel you "need" sex?
this isn't about me .. But I certainly don't view sex as solely for reproduction .. It is a pleasure .. Something I am passionate about

??? But my comment was about you in response to your following comment.

So I will inqire on this again, it strikes me extremely strange

"basic NEED".

What basic needs are there? Outside of desires of course, because a desire in itself is not a need no matter how strong the desire is, it's never a "need". So again, I ask what is this "need" you mentioned?
needs are not just about desire .. I am sure David will explain the hierachy of needs to you .. After all he brought Maslow to the forum. Go back and read my earlier posts I have already explained my thoughts on basic needs :-)

But I asked you. No needs aren't about desires, never said they were. Sex is purely a desire, it is not a personal "need". Yes it's a need on a large context, it is needed for man's reproduction of the world, but please stay on subject and keep things in context. The need in reference here was a personal need. You stated in the original statement the "basic need" and I was only inquiring about this "need" you speak of. Because there is no "basic need" with sex, nobody personally needs sex. It is all entirely a desire/want in that context.

Nope, no "sex" in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
belonging, love , self esteem are all reasons people may choose to have sex .. Intimacy in whatever form they crave. Where does it say only those married or in a relationship recognised by the church or society can reproduce . ... Oh that's right .. How silly of me .. The bible .. The biggest social control yet

Nobody else here mentioned either church or the Bible. Just you.
so the church or religion doesn't view sex as reproduction

Nobody else mentioned the subject. So, why did you bring it up?
I was merely responding to cowboys questions

And exactly why do you bring me into this specific discussion? I had absolutely no question in any of the quotes you quoted, nor in this thread did I ever bring up God, religion, or church in any way shape or form. Please leave me out of it unless it concerns me.
you stated the only need for sex is reproduction .. What shaped your view about this ??

My own personal wishes and desires. That's why there isn't or doesn't seem to be much "passion" in the bed for most people, outside of rawr animal instinct passion. I mean actual sentimental passion. How can it feel special if you know you could be the 20th in line to have slept with such and such. It then becomes competition and possibly feeling less then another. And that's the way it's turning these days, sex is treated as just some casual action people do. It's not viewed as "sentimental" or beautiful time shared. The passion of sex these days last about as long as the night does.

I'd rather be someone's first and last.
and that is a beautiful sentiment cowboy .. But you cannot expect everyone to share your view or your morals. Each person is an individual shaped by their own cultures, beliefs, upbringing, environment, morals and values ... As such their view of sex will not be the same as yours and nor should it be .. That is what makes us unique.

Absolutely, never said different nor did I degrade another for their different belief. Peace be with you <3

When a hot little broad says she wants to sex me, I am instantly attracted.

women speaking for men..men speaking for women..and yet

generalized and not individualized makes me wonder where do people

get the their information from..While it is true no two people are

alike should say a lot for some generalizations..spock

I would not care for sex without attraction, no thank you. I do not know why people do that. The reasons could be different for everyone, and similar for some....I do know that attraction can fade over time but whether that affects sexual interactions would be up to the couple.

you were not degraded, not successfully anyway. another cannot degrade you if you have done nothing wrong...it may have seemed that way to you but I think you simply appeared strong. I actually love this conversation that the two of you had. I think there are very valid points in this discussion if one is able to look past a few of the personalized comments...hey....we're all just human herelaugh flowerforyou

Why would you have sex with someone you were not attracted to? And, where did you get the idea that women do it all the time? And, what are the chances that if you answer these questions I will just become more confused?

the part about women (having sex without attraction) bothered me too. Perhaps that has been his experience with women, or maybe he was raised to believe that about women?

but it is certainly not true for me...or others just based on the posts in here.

those things sound more like men's reasons to have sex w/out attraction (mainly because they are notching the bedpost or whatever)and they are pretty contemptible..not to mention immature. I heard those types of saying coming from guys in HIGHSCHOOL, phd..lol

.. well the OP is asking from a mans point of view.. but you are right.. those are very childish... one liners.. but I am pretty sure.
. a majority of us here.. have slept with someone.
. at some point in our lives.. that may not have been.. the most attractive person in the world.
. or more to the point.. someone that did not turn us on.. but we did it.. well there could be lots of reasons... but when your body screams I need an orgasm... and I need it tonight..laugh .
.. well you know the saying ...beggars can't be choosers...laugh flowerforyou .. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang..
