there doesnt seem to be as much racism here as there is there. I noticed so much racism, in the usa while living there. I felt kind of naive so to speak ....

like.....why can't I go into that black neighbourhood at 6 pm ???

Naive? I'm lost, still trying to get my head around it.

We don't have room for racism here, we're all immigrants from somewhere, although it certainly happened in our history with Indigenous Australians.

Australia and Canada are very much the same in the part of racism. America is a country....that I did see alot of it.

It's a completely learned behavior, you're right. What I heard as a child set me up for alot of self drama, for alot of years. in my teenage years, I hated the fact that I was black-well mixed, probably black.
I was too colored to be white-too light to be black. I got it from all sides. I avoided alot of people and situations because of it.

I know in my parents' era there was more prevalence of racism, and after Sept 11th, some of the Muslim communities were harrassed.

And at times there are racial flares between different communities...there were some skirmishes of violence in Bondi a few years ago.

I dont notice it here so much...we are a small community with a vast influx of international visitors...

There will always be one narrow minded one I guess, anywhere.

Most here are very open to new and different cultures......though I do see some ppl get bent over east indians here....but we as a whole, and now im generalizing here too, try to accept ppl for who they are and not for the colour of their skin.

i have no problem with race!!! i just don't date the same race as me.... the men from my country seem to bring their attitudes from there to here and NOPE!!!!! been there done that, and not going there again.... i've dated a hispanic guy once and i'm sure it's not everyone, but on the first date, he was demanding and wanted to live together right away, to see if the relationship will work... i'm open minded and i go for mostly anything but not that......

i dated an african-american guy, my bestfriend is african-american and we have loads of fun.... wow!!! do i want to call him now!!!! the first one i dated, seemed ok at first, then true personality showed.... but bestfriend i met in 1999, and to this day nothing has changed.... i love him to death, but now the dinky banana head, got married.... so NOPE!!! we are strictly friends now, as of yesterday....... he is feeling guilty... i don't blame him, but i am not one to regret something great, but i understand....

i've never dated a white man though, hey maybe.... i guess i just never had suitor.... but i am not into looks, but somehow i noticed i am attracted to dark complected men..... but that can change... it's the personality that's important....ooopss too long, sorry.....

I think the only person in my family that would have a problem with what race my love is would be grandpa.

When I was seeing one girl of Asian Decent and when it was getting close we asked him if he'd have a problem and he said no. Actually he said "I have no problem with a **** (Asian racial slur), as long as she isn't a ****** (black Racial slur)."

Why can't you be paticular about who you choose to date with out being called a racist? That to me is (nonsensical) as it was put.

You can chose & not be racist. Times change & attitudes change.
Time will show, cultures blend as they are exposed to eachother.
All of this is basic history, people change.

For NOW I have spent about 35 years fighting with the
ONES who WANT to stick a label on another human being.
I have found that "ALOT" has to do with "HOW" THEY WERE RAISED and "WHAT" their PARENTS "DROVE" into there heads as THEY were growing...I hate the "N" word and "MANY OTHERS" that GROWN MEN and WOMEN, have used when they are UPSET......
I REALLY "THOUGHT" that "RACISM" would "NOT" be a "BIG" part of my "GRANDCHILDENS" lives,,,,,,,BUT,,,,IT WILL BE!!!!

WHY??? BECAUSE of the "HATE" that people want to "MAKE", "USE",
and "CARRY" with them STILL today...

And to be "VERY", "VERY", "REAL HERE" the most "ABUSED" culture
or fellow HUMAN BEINGS, "WERE" and "ARE" the AMERICAN INDIAN.

THEY SHOULD BE OUR,,,or (THIS COUNTRY'S) ADVANCED FIRST RACE TO BE and LIVE ON THIS UNITED STATES Of AMERICA.....

And "THEY" STILL DO "NOT" have THEIR OWN SET-A-SIDE DAY OF RESPECT ON OUR CALENDAR........."WHY"??????????
