As a mixed girl adopted by a Black family, I was expected to date Black guys. At the time it was more about the worry/fear that a non-black guy might mistreat me, would expect me to behave in stereotypical ways. One of my moms big concerns was that a non-black guy just wouldn't understand how our people related to each other, and would never be comfortable-and that I would never be truly comfortable in his family situation.
That was 15-20 yrs ago. And I hate to break it to you...but we are a racist nation. There is still alot of fear of the unknown, and that comes out as racism some time. Several of the guys I've dated in the past got crap from their fams because I was non-white. |

my son is very embarrassed that he isnt 100% white......he tells his friends he is, his school, but we know he isnt. It makes me mad that he feels that way, and Ive explained to him why its wrong but I have to respect his feelings at this point since he is a teenager.

I think it's all in how you were raised. I grew up in LA and at that time I had a problem with a certain race. Not going into details but hangen around some of the people I did when I was a "teen" it changed my personality. To be honest in someways I still look at things in a way that some wouldn't. Although it has not stop me from today looking at people for who they are on the inside and that is all that matters. Hmm, if you really look at at this. It's all what your looking for, to each is own
