What happens when a cop and a man who knows hits rights cross paths? It resembles a 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Except that this 3 year old is 40, wears a badge and a uniform, and carries a gun.

Even if this guy was driving around and following this cop, it is totally his right to do so. Cops do it to us all the time.

The driver was sure a smart a$$ little punk, it wouldn't have hurt anything to answer the cops questions and I can understand cops being edgy if they have an active crime scene and someone keeps driving in circles around it, we don't know the whole store before the video started, but I doubt it was nothing more then mere curiosity on the kids part and the cop should have realized that.

With that being said this cop was way out of line and should lose his badge. He should know how to deal with smart a$$ little punks without resorting to yelling, threatening, spitting and swearing then threatening to arrest the kid for obstruction when there was no cause to.

At least his partner had the common sense to realize how big he stepped in it wouldn't let him arrest the kid, you hear at the end of the video the hot head yell I'm arresting him for Obstruction and you see his partner push him back. This cop should lose his badge, someone this unstable with anger issues like this should not be making arrests if he can't control himself and not act like a baby.

Watch the video and let me know what you think?

I read a story just the other day where a cop gave a 2year old a ticket for peeing outside... A 2 year old has to pee when he has to go... The judge threw the ticket in the trash....no wonder there is so much crime.he had better do his job and go after crooks not 2 year old kids...

I've met terrific human beings that were cops and also ridiculously unqualified twats who were cops. Similar variations exist within any social grouping. That means some cops are in fact criminals on the side, only a moron would assume that police corruption is impossible just because of a badge, or that a cop can't also be an idiot, or a violent danger, or a rapist, etc.

But consider the alternative. Vigilantes as a domestic policing authority have no ethical constraints, no centralised and reviewed training or institutionalised governing, with vigilantes what you have is all the same problems you get with cops and a billion times the temptation, plus a far bigger and easier welcome mat for psychopaths to sneak in past the gate and play god. At least with an institutionalised policing force you have some attempt at governing within their ranks and a formalised, independent review.

Until you make robot cops you're going to have the human element ever present no matter what the badge says. And even a robot cop could get hacked by an insane computer engineer psychopath to make himself an army of drones and take over the world, but please don't tell anyone my plan hahahaha.

Cops are human, and subject to all human traits. Putting a badge on one does not make them any less fallible, any more acceptable, any more righteous or less criminal than their own character.

Some, many actually, join for good cause, have the best intentions in mind, or are simply seeking a worthwhile career.... do their jobs and wish to make a difference.

Others simply seek the power over others, yield to the temptations of that power, corruption, or seek "above the law" status to promote their own personal interests or agenda.

They're human, nothing more, nothing less, but the administrations of that power is based on their character, and many have none!

They are paid to be servants of the people, to serve and protect, but many, like politicians, refuse to acknowledge that!

First, this is an old video, it was first posted on YouTube in June of 2013. Here is the original version including the full 6:02 minutes. It has garnered 5194 comments and been viewed 546,720 and has upset 352 sensitive souls.

Now as to what I think, thanks for asking that it mattered, but thanks anyway.

Let's start with the cop. Lose his badge, not in this world, probably got a promotion as he has the correct mind set for the police state. If any disciplinary action would of been had, it would have been to the good cop for stopping the hot head.

Now to the citizen, there is a train wreck looking for a place to happen. If you are going to follow cops around, then you need to be prepared for a hot head, just what he found. It is an absolute miracle both the man and woman were not arrested and had to be disciplined with a taser and a baton for resisting.

First, never roll down your window more than 2 - 2 1/2". Second, you are never required to show id, just to identify yourself if charged with a crime. Some say you must provide your name, address and date of birth. Personally, if they have a warrant then it is their obligation to prove I am the person on the warrant, I have the right not to self incriminate. All they need is some name for the booking report, they need to prove any other thing. For the most part, they don't have a warrant.

And the citizen is a complete idiot to keep antagonizing an egotistical idiot. He has a right to remain silent and not answer questions, he should do that. That does not mean remain mute, when the cop implied a criminal action, that needs to be challenged very directly as being patently false and a blatant lie.

You must assert and stand on your rights, your right to remain silent and to not incriminate yourself. Stand on your rights as once they are surrendered, they can not be rescinded.

If you are subject, subject being the operative word, it is impossible not to go through a day without violating some statute, rule, or regulation.

So beware what you allow yourself to be "subject" to.

So let me see if I understand this perfectly idiotic piece of dribble. That we mare mortals and humans have three options; bad cops, unethical vigilantes, or some robo-cop that can be programmed to rip one's head off if the mortal don't follow commands.

Well I guess this perfectly demonstrates why this world has degraded to the mess of today.

But there should be no cops, law enforcement, or revenue collection officers. That is where the problems start. All one need do is to look at the federal government and see that each of the alphabet soup agencies now have their own police function to enforce their own brand of control enforcement over their subjects.

What the country needs is a return to the peace officer, the original concept of police power and still a function listed in most state constitutions.

The duty of the peace officer is to maintain the peace and protect the rights of the people. They don't need to arrest anyone if the peace has been restored. And just where in this peace domain do these little civil infractions lie, they don't. Those are administrative law, civil in nature not criminal.

Actually if you are stopped by police for any infraction you need to show them some sort of identification, otherwise if they cant identify you they take you to jail until they can positively identify you and I have seen that take up to two weeks on a shoplifter I caught and the cops couldn't id.

Many people, given a bit of power will abuse it and make the rules fit where they choose.

Happens in our faces.

What ya gonna do?

I believe it's called a god complex and the rules don't apply to them.

Those are the ones you need to get videos of them like this and get them fired.

There is a code of behavior for professionals of every field. The cop did not abide by his. His attitude was also aggressive and gave the impression that he could have made a false arrest if he was not on tape.

The purpose of the police is to protect the public, not threaten them.

where in the 'code of conduct' does it say an officer cant raise their voice?..lol

he asked at least a dozen questions CALMLY That the ******* tried to argue about before that point,,,,,being 'professional' wasn't working and the ******* is lucky he didn't use his 'professional' authority to take him in for obstruction,,,

he was aware from the beginning that he was being filmed and said anyway that he would arrest him, so 'not being on tape' made little difference except maybe that the little wannabe hard *** with a camera didn't get tasered or beaten,,,

Im neither fan nor foe of police or citizens, they are all human, but these human citizens were being obstructive ******** intentionally for some video footage, I feel for the cop and don't see where he did anything wrong

and in fact had quite a bit of restraint by not taking the little twerp in,,,

He did more then raise his voice, his partner had to restrain him and push him back and wouldn't let him arrest those two. At least he (the partner) was level headed enough to know they are in a bad situation and it's going to get 100x worse if he lets his partner arrest them.

This guy is clearly a cop on a power trip.
