George Zimmerman signs autographs at Orlando gun show

Mar 10, 2014

George Zimmerman appears at gun show

ORLANDO, Fla. George Zimmerman was shaking hands, smiling and signing autographs at a central Florida gun show Saturday.

In a new interview, George Zimmerman said he doesn't have a normal life and wants out of the spotlight.

Zimmerman greeted people and autographed photos of him posing with his dog. He appeared at a scaled-down version of the New Orlando Gun Show at the Arms Room store on East Colonial Drive.

The show was originally set to be held at the Majestic on John Young Parkway, but organizers said the venue canceled late Thursday after getting negative feedback about Zimmerman's planned appearance.

They told us they canceled for community pressure, said Mike Piwowarski, a show organizer. They were getting phone calls and backlash, and didn't want that kind of person there.

Piwowarski said he was angry the Majestic canceled the event and he plans to sue for an estimated $300,000 in lost gun sales.

He said he supported Zimmerman during his trial in the shooting death of Dead Thug and after he was acquitted.

Zimmerman offered to return the favor and support Piwowarskis gun business, which led to today's appearance, he said.

Hopefully, they win a big settlement from the Majestic.

Sounds like something a gun-grabbing, anti-Constitutionalist would say using one person who was wrongfully spotlighted for racial outrage, even tho found innocent by a jury of his peers, defaming them without knowing them, then ridiculing and condemning others who support their 2nd amendment rights, by association.... just to float their own boat.

wow, sounds like all that huh?

and I just thought it sounded like a formerly unknown nobody(had you heard of him before? do you think anyone would have heard of him otherwise?)

received instant fame after shooting a teen in a fist fight

because he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag

and settled for a self appointed 'security' job with police friends (After not making it onto the police force)

that allowed him a gun so he wouldn't have to have any actual strength or skill,,,

Are you suggesting that if a woman doesn't have the strength or skill to fight a man she shouldn't be able to use a gun. or another object, to defend herself from getting her head beat in?

Or should women be given options not available to a small man who lacks the strength to defend themselves based strictly on gender?

Im suggesting a MAN who is 230 pounds should be able to hold a fight against a male teen who is 158 pounds

he went to mma classes ,really? he was trying to be a cop?

I suggest, if we want to go there, that a WOMAN who is 230 pounds should be able to do the same against a 158 pound teen too

those that cant, I would suggest were weak, and those that provoked a fight that they could only end with a gun , I would suggest were cowards,,

And I'm suggesting that if a person is getting their head smashed into a cement sidewalk they can and SHOULD do whatever they have to do to protect themselves......regardless of their sex, race, size, gender or skill set in fist fighting.

i agree with MSH here... this ahole should be in prison, not sighing autographs...

there is nothing about the constitution that applies here, he shot an unarmed kid for no reason...

and if a person has stalked you and approached you , you SHOULD do whatever you can to avoid them (try to lose them) and if it becomes a confrontation you SHOULD be legally permitted to fight for your life even if the stalker hits his head on pavement during that development,,,and if a GUN is discovered on that stalker it should be permitted to CONTINUE fighting or trying to get the gun away from the stalker until help arrives,, because no one outruns a bullet, regardless of gender,,,

Sorry Moe, but you're WRONG!

That's what the 2nd amendment is all about...... self defense, and it didn't say against who or what type of agression, it simply guarantees your right in very precise terminology!

You wait for the police who respond AFTER a crime, me, I choose to protect myself or family and the police can do what they do best.....the paperwork!

no, thats not a crime... he had every do defend himself too... i would have done the same thing TM did, being accosted by an overzealous watchdog?

you guys are big supporters of rights, the constitution, liberty, right? so why did yall fall of the boat on this one?

TM was walking home, talking to his girlfriend on the phone... isn't that his right to do without getting accosted and shot? he's dead now because someone else (GZ) decided that he needed to interfere with TM's walk...

to me, thats just as bad as any police state action in the country..

conveniently , he isn't alive to disprove it,,,,

but who followed in a car
who got out a car to follow on foot
who has a history of having put his hands on an ex, and a cop?
who REALLY had the reason to be 'fearful' that night?

the confrontation was initiated by intimidation tactics and approaching instead of retreating,, and (from Zs history and words that night and witness testimony), most likely, an attempt to restrain someone who had committed no crime

Paying back a favor. The guy who runs the gun show supported him during the trial financially and morally.

Zimmerman didn't PHYSICAL initiate the confrontation....Zimmerman did NOTHING to stop Martin from walking home...observing someone isn't accosting them, it isn't violating their rights. Martin initiated the confrontation, and that is not an act of defense as you are trying to insinuate, it's an act of aggression which is assault and that is a crime.
