I mean, he wrote and sang a song called "Imagine" which is basically a song promoting communism. Not very wise when the country you are living in was at war against communism.

so, you are endorsing murder because you don't like the way an artist plies his trade ?..he was only commenting on society, if anyone thinks he got what he deserved, they are worse than communists, they have set themselves up as judge, jury and executioner...or GOD if you will...

Judge not, lest you be judged yourself...

Not like there was a debate, or even a quorum.

If you were murdered, would you want people to
speculate that you deserved it?

If I was dead, it doesn't really matter.

I really wouldn't care because I'd be dead Soufier hahahah! You know I was watching this tv show some years ago and there was this Dutch guy sawing dead bodies in half, live on air! It was on channel four. Anyway he kept reassuring the audience that the deceased gave him permission to do it.

nopPhd. Have you not noticed how musicians start out all innocent like, singing songs about love etc and if they make it to the top they then start getting all political.

Unlike Jesus Cristo, no one will be talking about Lennon for thousands of years.

I'm not emotionally involved, Conrad, so it's easy for me to be objective about it. Which is always the best way to be when making judgments. I think so anyway.

"Did John Lennon get what he deserved?"

huh

We have an expression here in the USA: It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.

nobody was more political in the music trade than Bob Dylan! And he is still loved by most.

That is because most people can't understand what Dylan is saying. So, they can't object to what he says.
