I give a pass on the pot.... never believed in those laws, but the EBT's.... being an "official" I hope they finally make an example of one, even if it is a minor one! It would be a beginning..... but I see an "explanation" coming and a pass..... or the media ignores until it's simply plea bargained away. She could be Holders new sacrificial lamb however Being EBT's, does that make it federal or state?

It's a bit misleading to call the woman a "Democratic official" since she's only the secretary of the mayor in Brooklyn, Ill. Not an elected position and probably not even appointed by the mayor. Just a government worker. That said, it's a good thing she was caught. Maybe now she can get the help she needs and/or the punishment she deserves. The five EBT cards really could be "held for friends" because if she's got a car and her needy friends don't, then she could simply have them in order to go shopping for them. I know my wife did something similar for a friend who had limited mobility and poor health. A bus ride to the store was very unpleasant. Sure, it's technically fraud to use somebody else's EBT card, but nobody needs to go to jail for helping poor old ladies. Also, the story I found online had no mention of the EBT cards. Could be another case of conservative bloggers making crap up.

Your right Democrats don't follow the laws like republicans do ... Shame on those Democrats who want to help the less fortunate, and want to help the unemployed ( for no fault of their own ) who only want to get back some of the money they paid to unemployment taxes over the years, and shame on them for wanting all americans to have health insurance, and wanting to make sure that all americans keep the right to vote , shame on those Democrats ... they should be like the republicans, who use their power to negotiate what their rich constituents demand of them, and shut down the government, regardless of who they hurt to get want they want, who make ** up thats so crazy that makes one wonder if they are kidding or are they serious ... who are against everything a black president tries to pass with out ever having a plan of their own ...republicans don't have any plans except to shoot down any and every law that the president tries to pass, that's what we need more of, by the way 1 republican senator is indicted for fraud, another got busted with drugs ... and another closed down a bridge putting thousands of americans life in danger and it looks like he did some funny ** with the money his state got for hurricane sandy ... But that was only a preliminary report, should have checked out the others, but then liberals tend to just stop when a story is slanted their way. So to break that bubble, Brooklyn Heights, Missouri Police Catch Local Democrat Government Official with a Quarter Pound of Pot & Five Unauthorized Food Stamp Cards!Check out the video from the local TV station, the source for the Liberty News story. Her mother was the mayor that was prosecuted for embezzlement and convicted for tax evasion. But what is really great is that the 5 EBT cards had no names on them, just blank. So I guess the OP had an axe to grind with the truth. Just imagine.

Sort of like the ones where her mother was arrested and prosecuted for embezzlement but then only got 2 years for tax evasion. Oh, did I mention that her mother was the mayor. How about that other convicted felon, the village administrator, Lamar Gentry. So now what happens, story quiets down and a couple of years for tax evasion and back on the ole public servant gravy train?
