do you depend on dating site to decide and write book about such critical issue !!

I would not use it as fact, just people's perspectives.

any way it's not about the country itself , it's related to individual persons , you can find racism everywhere , the more educated and civilized people are , the less racism they would be .

Dodo, thanks for your elaborate response.I assure you that it would be a clean work devoid of sentiment or prejudice. My focus though is on America and England and their multi-racial make-up.God bless you

I think major racism is mostly dead. What you have now is ignorance racism.

I think racism has just evolved into more COVERT unconscious forms instead of blatant forms,

Yeah, some covert forms are sparked by ignorance of how others feel perhaps?

The people who say back ' you don't know what slavery was like ' also do not know what slavery was like so this bugs me. However, it is mainly blacks who are in economic slavery. I wonder if the book will talk about that?

yep hippie, I Have an old soul and I see things in the same perspective in terms of what people 'know'

truly, no one can 'know' for certain anything about anything or anyone unless they were there IN THAT MOMENT Personally

so we base things we 'know' on what we have read (and believed) as well as what gets reinforced in our media and education,,,

I think its more accurate to say others don't know what its like to be female or black or a single mom, let along a black female single parent,,,,,in my case

however, back to the point,, there are many types of 'isms' or bigotry

people don't like to take part in the discussion usually without becoming personally defensive as if its a personal attack against them instead of a discussion bout our institutions and environment,,,,

but isms are an interesting topic, and can make for good study,,,

Just trailing on the end here to mention, if it hasn't been already, the title itself asserts a false dichotomy upon racism and that extremes of human social behaviour aren't bound by geography, nationality nor any other conditional influence, they're sociological constants appearing throughout recorded history among all surveyed cultures.

What I find annoying is the custom of some people to want racism to be as it was 40 years ago so that those people will have an enemy that they can fight.

A problem can have nothing to do with racism, but if racism is the only thing that people know how to fight, then they might make the false cry "Racism" anyway. Of course, when the alleged racism can't be proven, then the people claim that the racism is invisible.

People who misbehave, who makes poor decisions or who are of poor character may find themselves in trouble or lacking what they desire because they misbehave, make poor decisions or of poor character. Instead of confessing to their shortcomings, they will claim that racism is the reason why they find themselves in trouble or lacking what they desire. Of course, when the alleged racism can't be proven, then the people claim that the racism is invisible.

As racists discover that their racism is not socially acceptable, they might try to sooth their racist feelings by projecting their racism onto non-racists. Instead of saying, "I'm a racist; thus, I have a flaw", they say, "Everyone is a racist; thus, I am just like everyone else."

I don't know which is worse, crying "Racism" when there isn't any, or claiming "Most people are racists" when most aren't.

There are POS's in every race, color, creed and religion... just because you call out a POS from another race doesn't mean someone is racist, just means they are a POS....

or being enslaved for your skin color for hundreds of years, or denied 'equal rights' for decades, causing disenfranchisement

and then having acknowledgement of the results of disenfranchisement be 'poo pooed' whenever it is explored,, by pointing out that at some time and in some place somewhere in world history others have also went through,, abc,,or felt abc,,,,

yes, we know, everyone and anyone CAN Be racist or sexist or liberal or conservative at different moments and times in their lives,, none of these things by themselves are EXCLUSIVE to any group

but in context of looking at more SPECIFIC regional and geographical history, these things will still be topics of discussion,, and valid discussion at that,,,

Problem is that those two get mixed all the Time! They go hand in hand!
Just look at some of the Threads!
But,of course,if we Blank out Preference,we are left with Racism!

Frederick The Great said on one occasion;"I know My Pappenheimers"!
and I know them very well to!
