An old flame of mine texted me today to inform me that he hit it big with the stock market and that he is retiring in December. I had called it off about 2 years ago because I knew deep down I did not really love him, even though at the time he had money as nd I knew he was good at making more, he just has that gift. Anyways he proceeds to tell me how he well he is doing and that all the people that he helped are doing good too. He had told me to buy this particular stock but I never did, I just did not have the money or the know how. Anyways, he says to me in the course of our texting that he doesn't think about me anymore, he could not get over me 2 years ago, but now he does not think of me much. My question is, did he tell me how good he is doing to make me hurt as much as I hurt him, or does he still think of me? I guess guys would know this more than girls.

I think he's doing it to hurt you, and wants to rub in his success, and let you see what he thinks you're missing out on.

Yeah I think he's being a jerk, if he was trying to win you over he wouldn't bother mentioning that he never thinks about you, which obviously is a lie because he is still texting you.

Why do you even care? Do you still have feelings for him?
If not, who cares what he's trying to achieve?
Wish him good luck, stop this texting stuff, and go on with your own life.

He is doing it to let you know what you gave up. Wish him luck and move on..Hell just tell him that is good cause ya don't think of him anymore now then you have the last few years. And delete his text and say sooooo long...

It definitely sounds like he's trying to rub his financial win in a bit but as you said, he had money to begin with.
He's still the same man he was but you've just seen a childish side of him.
