From the US to Mexico DOES NOT require a passport.
Nor, do you have to claim you're a refugee.

Really? Lets run away to Mexico.

How about Canada?

Last I heard, you now have to have a passport to go on a Caribbean cruise. You didn't used to.

No, an enhanced driver license or military ID is also accepted.

Is it true that the new passports now have electronic strips or chips in them that can track you?

If you have a credit card with a chip in it and you want to disable it, cook it in the microwave for a few minutes. Then swipe it at the store and see if you killed it. If it does not work, then the chip is cooked.

You can still use the card on the Internet, or with someone who will process it manually.

By enhanced, do you mean one with a strip or chip for scanning?

Or is all they need is a bar code?

Not sure what the state dept means by "enhanced", I never heard of it either..maybe something they give to their spys LOL
Also I guess I should state like in my other posts, I'm not saying you can travel everywhere, I'm sure MOST require passports but there are many that don't. Guess it depends on cruise line, ports of call etc.

Allow me to paraphrase the gripe being made by people who deny the existence of freedom.

"I want to enjoy the benefits of living in a community while having the freedoms of living like a hermit."

In order to live harmoniously in a community, one understands that one cannot just do everything that one feels like doing.

One may feel like driving 100 mph on residential street where children live, but acting out that feeling would be detrimental to the community.

While there are a lot of "reasonable" rules in any society:

The questions Remain and still are:

How much freedom will we loose and how much will we give up in exchange for perks and safety?

(History says... a lot.)

Until the lack of personal freedom becomes something we, once again, have to fight and die for.

Canada, si one is needed.

The trick about Mexico. It's a free ride in but, AMERICAN CITIZENS, with ID and/or a Birth Certificate will NOT be allowed back into their country.

Have to have a passport, good worldwide. Or, a Passcard. Only good for Canada or Mexico.

The Caribbean thing, I no nada.

Personally. I have studied hard and enjoyed a successful career.
I have worked on political campaigns and been a good citizen.
I have done well by my fellow citizens and that includes Krupa.
I, as a good citizen, have a right to my opinion.
My opinions and knowledge, acquired with some care, could help some of our citizens who lack the effort or ability to gain the knowledge.

being honest,,,

I realize this is just a place where people vent, there is very little real 'knowledge' to be gained, but rather different perspectives and opinions upon which readers can further research and examine related facts to form their own opinions

Im glad there is such a free space to do such 'venting',, although we all have particular priorities that creep back into our posts and can be perceived very easily as whinging once they are repeated often enough

I do agree, that life is not simple, and avoiding chaos is not an easy job for anyone

I think most of us speak from inexperience on political issues and get our perception from picking the bits of media that support our collective PREJUDGMENTS about the politicians,,,

there is a point to be made that politicians are no more perfect than we are and we are no better than them

we really don't have a REALISTIC gauge of all they are responsible for and I respect the view of allowing them to be fallible human beings with the benefit of the doubt that , right or wrong, their decisions are at least an EFFORT to DO SOMETHING,,,,

whether we agree with them or not

I don't have a personal dislike of any person I have had no personal interaction with,, I do disagree with some decisions politicians have made and agree with some decisions they have made

and you do get the feeling from some of the political posts that the opinions are about a PERSONAL Grudge against a politician, instead of about an issue or policy

but, the one whose name I don't think I am supposed to mention, makes a point, my opinion is formed with a serious LACK OF PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE of all the factors that lead to their decision,,,

gives me food for thought,,,,,,

Well I guess only you have that right to your opinion according to the author of this thread. The rest of America, who have never run for office must remain silent on political matters because we are all just a joke.
Wonder if the framers of our country would concur?

Let's face it..If half of you kids cared half as much about all the things you whine and gripe about...

Lefties this...republicans that...Obama beat me with a wiffle ball bat.

...If you actually cared and felt half the unending crap you pansies ***** and moan about was REALLY important....

Why the hell have none of you run for office and effected real positive change?

The answer...You all are like my dad and all his old people friends.

You like to point fingers without having the nuts to step up and put all your perfect ideologies on an actual political docket.

You got nothing on Obama...so go on and hate him cause he is black.

You got nothing on Clinton..so hate him cause he had a chunky click blow him.

You got nothing on ANY civic leader who had the guts to actually TRY....

Right or wrong...our "leaders" at least tried.

If half of you geniuses in these threads would act on these beliefs you are Soooooo mutherfking sure of...

We could live in a better society..our kids could have a better future.

But...That won't happen

I read these endless threads with all these perfect opinions on how everyone else is so wrong.

It occurs to me...

What the hell is your excuses for not making it right?

Liberals? Republicans? Left? Right? Moderates?

You are all a joke.

Stand up for your beliefs..change the system or just know that I will continue to look at y'all posts and wonder why you ain't the president.

rofl rofl rofl
it only occurred to me when I turned 40 that politically attuned and opinionated people are never happy people from all I've seen. On rare occasions though, I still get a bit of a buzz on from having inhaled all that garbage from early childhood on...

Many colleges and universities in the US, during the 50's and early 60's had armed guards to bar women who wore pants from going in. They were deemed "a threat to
American freedoms " until the formation of students into groups like the SDS...I wonder if any patriotic guard ever tried to remove those pants that were a threat to 'national security' as it would be said today...laugh
