When I heard about the resignation, the first thing I thought of was rats and sinking ships.

What will the Democrats attack now? Rumsfeld is gone. Rove is gone. Gonzales is gone. I guess all the ammo will be fired at **** Cheney, a man who won't be running for political office. This resignation is well timed.

Ive often wondered how it was that when people take the high road (the road less traveled) they deamonized and have their character assasinated. much like what is going on with this senator from the airport. This guy gets caught in a less than descrete manner and is now facing the loss of his livelyhood- all by another group who on every other day or if he were one of their own would stand up for and fight tooth and nail for. the double standards in DC from the left and yes ashamedly from the right, are killing america. havent heard squat about the congressman from the buyou who was busted in a FBI investigation who embezzelled 100,000 and guess what he is still in congress. feinstein giving out federal contracts to her and her husbands contracting company, same thing with nacey smelosie.

As much as I wish recent events were a portent of a proverbial "perfect storm" coming together that would sweep an Independent party into enough offices to make a difference, I don't think the conditions are yet dire enough to derail "politics as usual".
