Try some herbal remedies. I drink warm milk with Nutmeg which helps me sleep.

Insomnia cures some swear by...
1. A glass of milk and chocolate chip cookie. 2. A glass of milk and a banana. 3. Glass of milk with nutmeg. 4. Cup of warm tea with nutmeg. 5. Bubble bath and a glass of red wine...alone or with a friend. No matter which you choose to try, I highly recommend creating a chill zone for an hour before trying to turn in....which means turning off the news and cell phones, and turning down the tv/stereo volume and lighting. Don't do activities that require much concentration or emotional envolvement...unless it can really wear you out...in a good way. All of the above work for me every time when I get my hour of chill. |

Drugs and a glass of warm milk.
Or, tell the old lady you want to hear everything about her day. And a glass of warm milk. |

It's quite simple actually. Grab a book to read half an hour before you want to go to sleep and read it and only it in bed (no music in the background, no tv, nothing). Laying in bed will lower your heart rate which will make you sleepy. And if you choose a book that's interesting, but still easy enough to put down(anything technical, historic, Sun Tzu's Art of War, etc.) you'll have no problem falling asleep.

You need to be tired in order to sleep so find ways to make yourself tired.
