I've read that complaining and telling our personal stories of woe and bad luck out loud to others helps to perpetuate how we view our lives and that negative thoughts and attitudes are part of the way we actually create and view our personal reality.
So I made the decision to cease complaining or at least be more aware when I do it. Today, I noticed myself complaining in a regular conversation. I can't even remember what all I said, but I made some meaningless statements of complaint about my situation, one being that I had two sore toes that were real painful which are the result of a bad self inflicted pedicure. I was focusing on what I don't want, thus creating and perpetuating it in my experience. Some people enjoy complaining, and they have complaining contests on a regular basis, telling stories of woe and trying to top someone else's sad story. I invite you to try a complaining fast. Do absolutely no complaining for an entire day if you can. This will help you become aware of your daily focusing on negative things in your life. But right now, see if you can remember something you complained to someone about today. Post it here. |

I have a special group of people who I will subject to complaining, usually because they have the same challenges. On the other hand, Im a big fan of turning complaints upside down. For example: Instead of saying "I did a poor job giving myself a manicure and now it hurts my toes." Say, "Im am rather skilled at bad manicures. On occasion, I can even create mild pain associated with my excellent bad cutting skills if I feel the challenge come over me". At least I can chuckle about what Im bothered by. I like that idea. |

Complaining about complaining is STILL COMPLAINING !
HAHAHAHAHAHA ! |

Complaining about complaining is STILL COMPLAINING ! HAHAHAHAHAHA ! I'm not complaining about complaining. I am trying to be more aware of the different ways we manifest and create our personal reality and perceptions of our reality. Pay attention today of how many times you complain or hear others complain about their life.... notice it. This is what their attention is focused on, and this is what they create. The Dream never lies.... |

I think there has to be a balance. I do have friends that the only time I hear from them is when something is wrong. It does come across as all the do is b!tch and moan. On the other hand they think enough of me as a friend to tell there problems to. I guess it is healthy to get things off your chest. I personally just internalize everything if something is wrong.......

I will go weeks without complaining, i have found that being negative drives people away very effectively.
The last complaint i have made lately was probably about the fierce heat we have been having lately, although i do hate the cold. |

I try to complain as much as possible. I don't want it all building up until I explode because someone might get hurt

Yep
It's like gas. Let it build up,you could explode and take the neighbors with you. |

I try to save those words for REAL problems.
I think the problem should at least be worth the breath it takes to voice it. |

It's all in the attitude. If you could exchange your need to complain feelings into feelings of gratitude you will see a dramatic change in your personal reality.

My mom instilled in me a very "it is what it is" kind of attitude growing up. I think it helps keep most of the little complaints at bay but when I do, I go OFF.

One of my terminally ill clients asked me to teach him compassion and patience. This is difficult when someone is in constant pain and even more so when I crack up every time he tells some lady to "get her fat F'ing azz out of the way". At least my laughing makes him laugh

At least my laughing makes him laugh He needs pain management. There is a guy in my town that practices what he calls dry needle acupuncture... it really relieves pain...at least for a while. It is very hard to be civil when you are in pain. |
