Topic: What is Home To You? | |
---|---|
Is there a particular setting where you feel most at home?
Is there a setting would have trouble feeling at home in? I've lived in several different settings and think I'm most at home in medium to small towns and smaller communities on the outskirts of a city. I would adapt to some extent to inner city life, but doubt I could ever really feel at home in the heart of a city. How about you? |

They say home is where the heart is. For me even having lived in many & owned a few homes, whenever I go to my childhood home
where my mother still lives.. that feels like going home to me! |

I know that feeling. I sometimes drive by the house I grew up and get all nostalgic. I like to think one day I'll have another home I will have the same sentiment for. |

When I went "home" to my Mom's for Mother's day we did a cookout for her. For years I've been saying I wanted to climb up & see the initials my Dad & I put in the mortar when we re did the chimney. Sure enough there they were from 1993..20 years ago! That's a home |

I very much believe that's true. The only house I've ever lived in as a family was the one I grew up in. I miss that sometimes. I don't mean living with my parents...but that family vibe in the house. |

I haven't felt "home" in a long time actually. I feel yummier and more expansive near the ocean.

I feel at home in my little apartment enclave that I have created. As far as what type of community, I feel most at home in small town and.or rural America. I live in the inner city now and it does not at all feel like home until I get inside my own dwelling.
Now I feel most at home when I am out hiking in rural areas |

Home for me is wherever my children feel safe and secure and loved. We could live in a cardboard box as long as they were happy and healthy. I'm not picky and luckily, I'm not into "keeping up with the Jones's." That being said...I do miss my pretty yard with my lilies where I lived before my divorce. |

Sucks for you guys.
I make every place my home. Life is what you make it. Not what gets handed to you.... Home is where I choose to love. I love my woman....for making me love her. When one soul loves another... That is home. If real love ain't Involved That blows.... Make your home...I hope it is better than you desire. Home....is a good thing . |

I'm a Cancer so I can (and do) make a home wherever I find myself. I can turn a tent into a home and feel good there. Home is my sanctuary. It is where I feel safe and can wear my jammies all day. But mostly, home is where the people I love are. |

(((Johnn))) My spare bedroom is always open to you. I will cook you yummy food and keep my cats from sleeping on you (most of the time). |

I also feel at home with the people I love, mainly my children. so where ever I am with them I feel at home. Actually, it is a relief to talk with them because they are normal people.

I don't see why it sucks to have a preference of one place over another. With or without a love to call home, is it unreasonable to prefer sleep over sirens in the night or fresh air to fog, or back yard bbq neighbors to streetwalkers and gangstas. |
