....Had Dinner? What did you think I was gonna ask you?
Yesterday, a friend reminded me of a picnic dinner we shared on a paddle boat in the middle of a lake. This friend lives right on the lake and one year we watched her neighbors annual 4th of July pyro mania from a paddle boat and took our diner with us so we wouldn't miss anything. It didn't seem so strange at the time, but looking back I realize it was probably the most unusual place I've even eaten dinner. Maybe I'll keep that one in mind for a spontaneous diner date. |

Top of the Eiffel Tower was pretty cool.
Service/food sucked though :-) Somehow, it didn't matter. |

the hotel guy gave us the address, we took a cab, it was a complete dud from out front, but you walked through the bar to the back into this amazing little outside world. it was like fine dining in the middle of the amazon...way cool. still have the restaurant business card after all these years. |

does jail count?

does jail count? If it does, that would be mine, too. Having been a former cop, I at least got to eat it alone. I'm still thinking of contacting the ACLU about them trying pass off cat food as my dinner though. |

well for me it was for asking a female cop "how much for a quickie? and are you available for birthday parties?" That's just wrong. I can't believe she busted you for a perfectly legitimate question. Mine was a simple misunderstanding between my ex-husband and myself. He didn't understand that when I said "leave me alone", I meant it. Some people have to be shown that you're serious. |

I've actually has a similar experience. The place looked like a metal shed on the outside, but was amazingly classy on the inside. I don't eat red meat often, but it was the best steak I ever had. |

Admit it....you were a little excited when she first reached for the handcuffs, weren't you? Common man, you can tell US! |

Wasatch front was pretty different, up on top of the mountains...Drove as high as we could and grabbed the sack full of, well, stuff and food. Hiked to the top, had a party and ate food, do not have any idea how we made it down.

In Kandy the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, we drove from Colombo the 70 miles inland, visiting a tea plantation, Temple of the Tooth and an elephant reserve where I rode one which was quiet an experience. The meal was Sri Lankan, very similar to Indian food, served in an open area outside a restaurant inside a park, returning to round off the day with a few beers in the Mount Lavinia Hotel, the year was 1972, it was an experience I shall never forget. I was employed in the Merchant Navy at the time.
