Alf, Speaking only for myself, I find it very hard to take anyone serious on a dating site that doesn't post at least one real picture of themself. Last night I looked at your profile. I noticed that you had at least two pictures, I take were you.

I also noticed that you have several female friends. I'm just guessing here. But, Do you think that at least some of these women would be on your friends list if you only posted a picture of "Alf" and nothing else?

I've been doing this on line dating thing something over 7 years. To this day I have never met one woman who doesn't want a face to match the person she is writing/corresponding with. A picture isn't everything. I know that. But, you can't expect someone to talk to you for very long without wondering what you look like. Heck, A lot of men and women will not talk to you without seeing what you look like right off the bat. It may not be this way here. But, On some other sites,Fake user image=ZERO CONTACT. They think you are a scammer/spammer or something worse.

Take POF for example. Fake user image will get you kicked off the site in a heart beat. On that site fake user image usually does mean scammer. Mingle, as far as I know,is the only dating site that allows fake user images. No other dating site that I know about does. By allowing fake user images, they pretty much are opening the door up wide open for scammers. I get some kind of a scam message from here almost everyday. And it's usually someone with a fake user image. It's usually always some TV/actor/personality/stolen off of facebook or something/somewhere.

mine is a non-human image. i like the flowers i love them really..

Curiousity made me want to look at this profile. It's been deactivated. Do I call this a lie, end to end?

I joined this site..a week ago..as many in the online dating community know..

the site..."Plenty of Fish"..imploded..last week...dozens..and dozens..of members...non-paying..AND paying...were deleted...no warning...no reasons given..

there is a blog online about it..memebers try to re-register..it does not allow them..

many..including me..lost some very nice..long time friends..contacts...

so I came here..to see what it was about..also..a site.."oceans of People"...another "free" site..

sounds good..but if no one..I mean..NO ONE..is ever online..at any time..then what is the point!!

I do searches..in my area..Montreal,Canada..get pages of profiles..actually look at dozens..page by page...NO ONE has ben on in over a month...what is up with that??

That sounds like something that could happen on POF. Ever now and then Markus "purges" the site of people he thinks might be causing trouble. Scammers/Spammers and all sorts of undesirables. Sometimes when he does this the baby gets thrown out with the bath water. But, In any event,The site gets cleaned up. I got pitched off once myself. Six weeks later I was back on.

I don't remember if I had a profile image of me in human guise when I first gained a "Friend" here. I think that I had a "human" image in my profile shortly after joining. I figured that human females would want a human face associated with me. Not everyone appreciates my natural Melmacian beauty.

I was actually accused of having a "fake" picture. Really? How in the world is that considered fake? Eh well maybe because I'm grinning like an idiot who knows. But yeah I had to put up several others just to reassure them.

Now Dodo_David... his is legit. Too many times I've had to chase him away from my cat.
