... photos of their boat or their car or some other item as their only profile picture, rather than a photo of themselves. What's up with that?

If I wanted to date a car, I'd go to an auto show.

Some people are here just to talk and are not serious about dating anyone. The others are hiding their pics for their own reasons. As long as they can provide a couple then its ok. I just get s little nervous when they want my email when they can send it to me on here. Too many scams out there as we all know.

Its their preference. Its ok for me, im really not into looks. For me maybe,its their way of treating you to be comfortable.

Sometimes the picture gives you more of a clue as to the type of person as opposed to an actual photograph of them. Like, oh he's a jokester etc.

My beef is with people who ask me for my picture when they can obviously see I've got more than a couple of them on here!

Such as their shortcoming?

A photo of the guy ON his boat or in his car, great. A photo of just the boat/car makes me wonder why he's hiding. That is, if he's looking to date (and these are guys who HAVE messaged me for dates).

I guess I'm just not all that impressed by boats and cars. If you're a guy and you want to date me, let me see a photo of YOU and then if you think it's important, you can tell me about your boat or your car. Although, chances are if you think that's what'll impress me about you, we probably not going to be a good match anyway.

there are many reasons that people don't post pics of themselves (been discussed many many many times) but it doesn't mean they don't have pictures set to private that they share with people they are interested in. I don't need my picture for all to see but I have some set to private.
