God bless you. You are an angel of mercy. I have a rescue dog who was in bad shape when I brought him home. Now he saves my life everyday. I looked theres not one in my area. Mercy of the beast is blessed by the lord.

I live in the country and for some reason.. everyone thinks "lets dump our unwanted (insert pet type here) there.. they'll find a nice barn, farm etc to take 'em in" such stupid people I tell ya.. I've rescued all types in my 8 years here.. cats (by the ton.. found new homes for every one of 'em too ) some dogs (they've all found new homes too).. fox, deer, raccoon, weasels, a mess of grey tree frogs and a skunk or two.. plus some wounded birds.. and my own pup is a rescue...

I work with my vet and her hospital.. she checks them all out and we split the bill.. however many are pro-bono.. and we work together at either release OR finding homes for 'em.. we also started a 'rescue' foundation where all proceeds go to those with pets, but unable to afford proper care.. gotta love the lil furries..

I'm currently working on a pair of feral cats.. both born in the wild.. I've been feeding 'em and made a winter shelter for them.. after 4.5 months I'm FINALLY able to touch 'em.. however briefly.. and they're getting a wee bit closer every week.. obviously starting to get used to having a 'human' around.. I'm hoping by June I'll be able to hold them.. once that occurs I can take them in to the vet for shots and a check up.. doubtful they'll be indoor cats OR will take easily to other humans but.. I can easily fix something more permanent for next winter and keep them around..

One time my son was riding his ATV way back in the hills and came across a mama pit bull and her pup someone had dumped off, he rode back and got my ex and they went back in the truck and took them home, so sad the mama and pup were close to starving, just cruel. We ended up keeping the pup, lil lulu ( I got to name her lol) but had to give the mama to an animal shelter (no kill) because she chased our cattle and horses and tried to bite them.

sucks how some people are just heartless 'n stupid.. NOTHING LIVING IS DISPOSABLE.. I'd like to cram THAT into every human way of thinking.. some just toss others away like yesterdays garbage.. tics me off in a BIG way.. but luckily.. there are some good hearted people STILL around.. not nearly enough to tip the scales.. but maybe ONE day.. ALL life WILL be cherished accordingly.. sigh
