"Intelligence is of the essence in warfare - it is what the armies depend upon in their every move…To be reliable, information must be firsthand …There is thus an important relationship between intelligence and timing."

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to check in once more this weekend... Well, for those of you who didn't know, especially when I am in Sac town, Suc-ramento, to some... which is the most often.... I like my cardiovascular workout... I am a pretty decent, well-seasoned bicyclist, I'm not a newcomer by any means.... But , even to seasoned bicyclists, stuff happens. I was out on a bike ride late last week, on my daily sunset trek on my 21 speed mountain bike to cruise the river road, avoid all the skunks... that have the distinct fragrance of something else. and watch the sunset on the horizon. Well, I got sidetracked on R street which has train tracks going through the middle of it.. R Street =railroad... but they don't use those tracks any more... Well, I happened to take my eyes off the road for a second to communicate with a pedestrian I could have collided with and he told me to go first, so, in that split second, I rode across the train tracks a little bit too parallel with the tracks & my wheels got caught in the tracks, & bammmmmm, that was all I wrote ...I bailed ... It all happened so fast, but seemed like slow motion when I fell. It was bad. I skid too.!! with a tank top, short skort, & thin sandals on... no less and no more..... I'm usually so bold and so confident I almost never fall... I'm a bit more careful & a bit skiddish these days... but with temps in the 90's and 100's I am not putting more clothes on. Well, I did hurt myself bad and it got infected too...nice. Some people would not get back on a bike after what I've gone through... But, like Bonnie Raitt says, " The road is my middle name" And it just so happens to be that this weekend San Francisco is hosting the huge 40th anniversary of the Woodstock summer of love festival... I was there, it has been 38 years...August 1969... but, I'm not complaining... So, this concert is drawing me like a magnet too... Mr. San Jose was going to come get me on his mighty stallion named Harley, but with my leg injuries, we decided to pass... But there is a bright light at the end of this tunnel.... My beloved daughter, my oldest, happens to be free tomorrow and her heavy metal husband is touring out of the country for the weekend, so we are gonna head out to the City by the Bay, and we're going to wear flowers in our hair... And I get the great honor and ecstatic, exhilarating pleasure of escorting my daughter and with my young grandchildren in tow, I am going to make a grand appearance with three generations present at the anniversary woodstock celebration. And we are going to see the Doobie brothers, Jesse Colin Young and Country Joe and the Fish & a host of others... There are a lot of Bay Area musicians who live near there. so, please wish us well, and I'll give you an update when I return and recuperate from the festivities... This will be all dependent on the little ones... I have my 3 year Granddaughter & 9 year old Grandson , too. And as always I am thankful for the faithful ones who keep the evil ones at bay & away from our homeland... So grateful for the freedom to just have some fun... and to do so many things that so many others have never had the chance to do and never will... |

For Gary...
Forever Autumn The summer sun is fading as the year grows old, and darker days are drawing near... The winter winds will be much colder, cause you're not here... I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky and one by one they fade away... I wish that I was flying with them cause you're not here... Through autumn's golden gown you mused to kick your way you always loved this time of year those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now cause you're not here... A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes as if to hide a lonely tear, my life will be forever autumn, until you 're here... By Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues |
